RJ you puffin a little aren't you. I noticed it on the dyno and in this video. That thing is hella loud. Can't wait to make some of mine.

Yeah it is a little bit. Im hoping its just the turbo seals going out. I have 15,000 miles on this one so far and am spinning it above its efficiency range. Not sure if thats the issue though.

Got my rods and oil pump in yesterday. Clutch should be here today.

What rods did you end up using? Sorry if it's buried somewhere in your build thread but I've been looking and didn't see it.

Ended up with some H beam rods off of ebay. They are identical to Manleys as far as I know. I am also using ARP 2000 rod bolts.

So yesterday I did a short pull to test out my oil restrictor in 3rd gear. Maybe 2000 rpm worth. Let off and it started smoking ridiculously from the catch can and coming into the car. I coasted the car to a gas station. Got home and found coolant mix in the catch can and a somewhat lose tensioner on the passenger side. I think they are two separate issues but still. Im going to pull the timing cover and possibly the heads

Welp passenger side is good!

Both tensioners were kind of sketchy and the water pump seal was leaking so that explains the loss of coolant and hard start. Going to check the other head still and make sure its good.

The other side looked good too. I guess the tensioner is what was causing all my problems.
