That's not a piece missing. The inner gerotor gear kinda "wobbles" around inside the outer. Wobble isn't the correct word, but you get my drift. The outer gear has 1 extra cutout (whatever it's called) that creates the "wobble" effect. All the pieces are there. I know it doesn't really matter at this point, just saying.........

Incorrect, there is definetly a piece missing. Both gerotor gears are fully ringed there is no gap in the individual rings themselves. The gap is between the grooves of the inner and outer ring, the inside ring oscillates inside the outer ring as they spin, that's where the oil is grabbed and pumped.

Yeap that's what they should look like. You have a chunk missing where it broke apart to my eye. But yes they don't fit perfectly inside each other that's what creates the cavity to pump the oil and allows the inner gear to oscillate.

Incorrect. There are 8 teeth on the inner gerotor and 9 cutouts on the inside of the outer gear. Again, he has no missing piece.

I misread what you wrote, I thought you ment there is supposed to be a break/gap in the inner ring. Yes they have different numbers of teetth to create the gap between inner and outer ring grooves. There isn't a tooth missing.

I thought you were saying that this gap is supposed to be there.

Do you have a picture of the balancer that "looks funny".

Let me get one in the morning. I think it is a Steeda Underdrive. There is a grayish material between the inner and outside metal of the pulley and some of it is coming out. Ill see if I can find a pic online

That's too bad. UDP especially Steeda are a common denominator with broken oil pump gears. If you find the time to collect data like the build clearances and oil used could you send it to me? I've been collecting info on broken gears to get an idea of what the commonalities are with a failure.

Man that sucks. I be worried that coyote swap would be a pain in the ass. I would do a gt500 swap if you have the money or boss block NA.

x2 for a 5.4 GT500 swap. That's what I wish I had done with my '06 Windveil Blue Mustang.

Sorry to see all the problems you have had. If you're rally wanting a 5.0 have you thought about getting a Ford Racing 5.0 crate engine? http://www.tascaparts.com/complete-engines/crate-engine-aluminator-5.0l-4v-11.0-1/m-6007-a50na/ or http://www.tascaparts.com/complete-engines/crate-engine-5.0l-4v/m-6007-m50/

You would have a solid engine, with a warranty and not have to piece things together.

+1 on this RJ, this is what I was going to do if I kept my car. Just to be safe to run bigger shots of nitrous.

Guys I'm not trying to spend an additional 10k on the car. The routes I was planning on going both have me going out of pocket around 500-1500 after selling my set up off.
