I have a weird metal buzzing sound coming from behind the engine and I cannot figure out what it could be. It happens at ~2100-2200RPM regardless of what gear (1-3/OD, Park/Reverse/Neutral don't seem to do it) the car is in or what the road surface is like. I put the rear end off the ground and tried to replicate it and I couldn't so I assume it has something to do with load. The exhaust is a original modified Y pipe without a muffler. The exhaust hanger for the middle/rear isn't there so the exhaust can move slightly but the hanger are still there behind the engine. Here is a clip of the sound (
) It is much easier to hear on mobile. My best guess is the heat shields but they seem to be tight and the cats do not seem to be touching them.
The sound started after changing the oil from 5W20 (I believe anyway the previous owner changed it and it seemed thin) to 5W30. I also changed the drain plug which was slightly longer than the one that was originally in it. The plug matched the car at O'Rileys anyway and I don't think it currently matters but figured i'd include this info just in case.
