Dude that's bad ass. Congrats. That's a hell of a deal too. I need to find me a friend that works for ford so they can give me a pin and save me some cash on my next purchase lol.

I too dream about a GT500, and was going to buy the 2013, buuut just found out 2 months ago my wife was preagnant soooo no GT500 for me anymore. I'm actually looking at a vortech now hahah. That plus I am looking at buying a house too so yeah, no more toys for me lol

Also guys, bad economy or not, if he works and makes his money it's his to spend whichever way he freaking wants too. Get another job or two and stop hating. If my priorities didn't change I would have dropped my money on the 2013 shelby. And I'm not rich. Matter of fact I'm active duty Navy and it pays well but it's not the best paying job in the world.

Either way man, I'm sure you are not paying any attention to the " haters " and just enjoy the damn thing. I know I would have a constant smile on my face lol

Oh also MSPR, I was reading in car and driver should be roughly 60k on the 2013

Starting with a 5.8L would be well worth the money for me, even if it is aluminum. That's not even considering the greater potential of the bigger engine and cost of getting the 5.4L to where the 5.8L starts at.

And what if that 5.8L has a bunch of first year issues? :deadhorse:

Never buy a motor in the first year of production, especially from Ford. The Ecoboost is the closest I've seen to being an exception to that rule.

Bullshit. The Coyote has been a fantastic motor with very few actual production issues. 95%+ of the issues owners had were self induced via aftermarket tunes. On the other hand, GM's LS3/L99 motors have suffered a greater % of failure due to lifters and oil pumps. Those motors have been around longer than the new 5.0.

You sir have created a fail post.

umm... if I keep the stock blower then 2.6 pulley, heat exchanger, tune and exhaust then a stage 6 port.

But I may just go right to the 2.9 whipple.

The flagship Mustang? I doubt it. Even if so, I can't see Ford not taking care of it. There are a shitload more GT owners putting faulty tunes (that is my take on it, anyways) than GT500 owners doing the same. You take a risk when you mod your car. I would never put ANY tune on my car then bitch if a cylinder went out.

**EDIT**
Sorry! I thought you meant the bank repossessed your car! I flew off the handle there for a second... my apologies.

Congrats!!

congrats on the purchase

having owned an 08 gt500 and a coyote, and access to pretty much whatever mustang at the dealership at cost that i want to buy,

imo, the coyote far surpasses the shelby.

we already have 8 9 second coyote cars out there.

the shelby's have been around for 5 years now. how many 9 second shelby's are out there????

as far as cost on the 13's, i don't know about any top secret info there. the pricing should come in the low 60's base msrp, around 63k if i'm not mistaken

with all due respect, i think this has more to do with the intial cost of entry over which has more potential. you can get into a 5.0 for well under 30k, while even used 07-90 cars are still mid to upper 30s. not to knock the 5.0, but id take the 5.4 all day over the 5.0.
