You want thin set morter. Not pre mix. It will not dry under the hardi. You can get away with an unmodified under the hardi since it is getting screwed down also. Do not use dry wall screws.

Most pre mix can only go up to 12x12 or 16x16. Si ce the boards are 36x60 they dont get enough air to dry.

Your subfloor should be 3/4 min before hardi.

HughesNet sucks. Too much latency to be useful, even with their fastest service. Directv rocks though.

Same here. It'll keep your dvr updated, won't download a movie.. I had to get a mifi from AT&T just to keep wife's iPad working. Get your installer to ping Google or something, get it under 100ms. Mine is over 700ms.

Yeh Hughesnet is almost useless, we had it for two weeks and got rid of it. If you go over your allotted time they will put you on a 24-48 hour probation, that's the main reason we dropped them.

What color is your floor? We're fixing to do a toasted chestnut and that looks similar. Very nice place btw!
