So, I've head a tick in my driver side head since last winter. Now because of this the car has been sitting in the garage all winter. I started it once, had the tick, 20 seconds later shut it off.

I thought it might've been the lash adjusters. I, just now 10 minutes ago, made a video to help in diagnosing what this might've been. As soon as I started it there was no sound! BUT!!!! 2 seconds into me starting the engine, there was a loud thud, chirping, squeaking, and it died on its face. There was smoke coming from the bottom, (not sure exhaust or clutch, clutch was pretty bad) I'm leaning towards the exhaust smoke.

Well, here's the video.

Not sure why it's sideways. Stupid Photobucket.

I'll do that as soon as I can. I checked oil before and after. Full, less than 200 miles on it, Royal Purple. I didn't look for the pressure... I'm thinking of taking the plugs out, and spin the engine by hand?

Haha. Damn it... FAHK I don't wanna pull the motor out!!! I'll see if I can turn it by hand. Funny thing, I have an engine stand, but don't have hoist. Hope my buddy does.

Maybe it's something simple, like the car cover getting sucked up into the clutch. I actually had that happen to me once. Good luck man. That did not sound good.

pull the valve covers first, good chance it is a broken follower if you were having ticking issues........usually the sound goes away when they break......right before the broken parts start really tearing things up in the head.....
