Persistence Is A Bitch
A 2011 is not sold "as is" . That said, you will have to put the heat to them. Good dealers will make it right, not so good dealers need a little help. Some will brush you off, if you let them.
edit: I'd fight the dealer to replace the calipers too!

A used 2011 definitely is sold 'as is' except for anything covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Cosmetic issues, such as the wheel discoloration, are not covered by warranty.
Sorry, OP, you're likely out of luck getting any recourse from the dealer unless they want to extend some goodwill (even though they aren't obligated to).

It was Munday Ford in Bastrop. They seem like a good bunch of guys so hopefully they'll take care of meWhat dealer was it?
Yea idk if it was the dealer or the 70 yr old man that had it before me.Yep, something caustic was applied that shouldn't have been because it not only ruined the finish on the Brembo wheels but ruined the finish on your expensive Brembo calipers.
I was thinking this but we'll see for sure!pretty sure it was sold to you as is, sorry man!
Idk why they're like that. It doesn't seem like they had any paint on them, but instead just the gray metal finish and then somebody fucked em up a little.you're calipers are very faded. i hope that doesnt happen to mine.

I can see that being true too, but I can also see me getting treated right because I'm not happy with something on the car I just bought from them, that came this way.A used 2011 definitely is sold 'as is' except for anything covered by the manufacturer's warranty. I still have my 06 GT but I put it up in Dallas with pops! Glad to still have it and this 11'Wait, am I the only one that didn't know you sold your car?
haha but plastidip is bad ass! JK I wouldn't mind getting new wheels but I doubt I will anytime soon. Probably just powdercoat these if anythingDon't bother with plastidip. Either buy new wheels (you know you want to anyway), or if you really like the wheels you have, get them powder coated. There are hundreds of colors to pick from.
Hmmm I wouldn't even wanna waste time in small claims myself but I can see where you are right.I respectfully disagree, and here is why. A dealer does not sell a 2011 the same way it sells a 2001. It is presented as a almost new car. If the OP takes to small claims, he will most likely win. The dealer knows this and while some will do everything they can to not fix. In the end, most will fix before wasting time in small claims. This opinion is based on 12 years in powersport and auto sales. Seen this scenario play out many times. We have fixed stuff on older cars, that in your wildest dreams, you would not think we should fix.
Yea it looked to me as if the car was sitting for quite sometime with my wheels and brembos basking in it.it looks like the previous owner never washed the car (Brembos are BAD on excessive brake dust). that may explain why someone ruined those wheels/calipers with some type of chemical cleaner.
Haha I love that shit! I may do it anyways and then powder coat later!Plasti Dip! You won't notice the discoloration anymore.![]()
Thanks for the advice. I guess i'll get my ass out there and do so before I give the dealership a callI would personally attempt to clean them once more before approaching the dealership.
Try using some Iron-X with a strong wheel brush, I use Adams Boars hair brush, and also clay them. If that doesn't work, then they will need to be refinished.
Good luck OP.
Damn those look way better than mine LOL. Nice find brofound one on google

That's sucks man,plasti dip time I guess.
Yea it's time for something! If the dealership doesn't help me out on this I wonder what I should do with the calipers? I could try to paint them myself and somehow tape off the brembo sign or something.
