A 2011 is not sold "as is" . That said, you will have to put the heat to them. Good dealers will make it right, not so good dealers need a little help. Some will brush you off, if you let them.

I wonder wtf someone used on those.. Whoever it was was an idiot. I'd definately try to get the dealership to replace them. Those are ruined. Best of luck to you

edit: I'd fight the dealer to replace the calipers too!

A used 2011 definitely is sold 'as is' except for anything covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Cosmetic issues, such as the wheel discoloration, are not covered by warranty.

Sorry, OP, you're likely out of luck getting any recourse from the dealer unless they want to extend some goodwill (even though they aren't obligated to).

Don't bother with plastidip. Either buy new wheels (you know you want to anyway), or if you really like the wheels you have, get them powder coated. There are hundreds of colors to pick from.

I respectfully disagree, and here is why. A dealer does not sell a 2011 the same way it sells a 2001. It is presented as a almost new car. If the OP takes to small claims, he will most likely win. The dealer knows this and while some will do everything they can to not fix. In the end, most will fix before wasting time in small claims. This opinion is based on 12 years in powersport and auto sales. Seen this scenario play out many times. We have fixed stuff on older cars, that in your wildest dreams, you would not think we should fix.

it looks like the previous owner never washed the car (Brembos are BAD on excessive brake dust). that may explain why someone ruined those wheels/calipers with some type of chemical cleaner.

if its under warrenty from ford take it back and bitch, what the worst that could happen? they tell you no? i know if the clear coat started peeling off the roof in a year i sure as hell would, same for the the wheels and brake calipers. i mean, its not like you curb rashed them and then they started peeling from that.

I would personally attempt to clean them once more before approaching the dealership.

Try using some Iron-X with a strong wheel brush, I use Adams Boars hair brush, and also clay them. If that doesn't work, then they will need to be refinished.

Good luck OP.

What dealer was it?
It was Munday Ford in Bastrop. They seem like a good bunch of guys so hopefully they'll take care of me

Yep, something caustic was applied that shouldn't have been because it not only ruined the finish on the Brembo wheels but ruined the finish on your expensive Brembo calipers.
Yea idk if it was the dealer or the 70 yr old man that had it before me.
pretty sure it was sold to you as is, sorry man!
I was thinking this but we'll see for sure!
you're calipers are very faded. i hope that doesnt happen to mine.
Idk why they're like that. It doesn't seem like they had any paint on them, but instead just the gray metal finish and then somebody fucked em up a little.

We'll see if this is dealership has some good ol boys or not

I can see that being true too, but I can also see me getting treated right because I'm not happy with something on the car I just bought from them, that came this way.

Wait, am I the only one that didn't know you sold your car?
I still have my 06 GT but I put it up in Dallas with pops! Glad to still have it and this 11'

haha but plastidip is bad ass! JK I wouldn't mind getting new wheels but I doubt I will anytime soon. Probably just powdercoat these if anything

Hmmm I wouldn't even wanna waste time in small claims myself but I can see where you are right.

Yea it looked to me as if the car was sitting for quite sometime with my wheels and brembos basking in it.
Plasti Dip! You won't notice the discoloration anymore. :roflmao:
Haha I love that shit! I may do it anyways and then powder coat later!

Thanks for the advice. I guess i'll get my ass out there and do so before I give the dealership a call

Well it's weird that every bit of the paint was eaten off and there is absolutely no sign of black paint but the red brembo is still there

Damn those look way better than mine LOL. Nice find bro

That's sucks man,plasti dip time I guess.

Yea it's time for something! If the dealership doesn't help me out on this I wonder what I should do with the calipers? I could try to paint them myself and somehow tape off the brembo sign or something.
