What would happen if I used an alt off an auto on a 5spd car

Long storie short my alt out on my car, I hav an alt here not sure what it off off, looks identical but has no pulley on it, and where the plug goes into back of the alt is on the other side

I think if they look different that means they are different.
At least in my real world experience with things that look different.

well then it's probably not off an Auto trans S197 car (which btw is also a 5 speed.... :thud: )

The corner auto parts store may list the same part number for both, but Ford has different alternators for auto and standard transmission equipped cars.

The corner auto parts store also has generic O2 sensors with the same part number for both front and rear. Most of us know what kinds of problems develop when you get those mixed up.
