What's your A/F in normal driving/reving?

If you sit still and rev the engine, what range of numbers should you see on your A/F?

During normal part-throttle driving around town or on the highway (not hot dogging it), what range of A/F numbers should a person see?

I've got a blower, but these questions pertain to not being in boost.

Sitting and reving is pretty much pointless, the a/f is going to go all over the place as there is no load and no constant throttle position.

I have an autometer wide band with bosch sensor.
At idle: 14.5-15.0
when letting off the throttle in gear(depends on gear): 15.5-16.5
At throttle tip in after a shift i see 12.0-12.5 initially and then while holding normal partial throttle acceleration it goes to 13.5-14.0 and steadies out but will go whacky for a sec with any slight throttle change and then steady out again.

I have never tried to coast and just depress the clutch and release to watch the a/f but i dont think ive notcied a change soley based on clutch usage.

When going wot (again depending on gear) it jumps rich sometime to 10.8-11.5 and then steadies at 12.8-13.5 and again when releasing jumps lean to 16 area never seen it go to 17 or higher.

Have you ivestigated your wideband sensor? what kind of gauge?

I've got an aeroforce wideband with aeroforce's sensor. And yeah, one of my next ideas was to go to a local dyno long enough to sanity-check my guage against their's.

I see the same tip-in that you see. Good.

But when I let off the throttle, I'm getting 19.9. I see 19.9 between shifts (shifting out of a gear, but not into the next gear yet). I also see 19.9 after I let off the throttle from reving at a standstill. These 19.9 spikes settle to a more normal number after about a half second.

But coasting in-gear, I have one tune that sticks at 19.9 until I apply throttle or push in the clutch. I've got a different tune from a different shop that also hits 19.9 with in-gear coasting, but it doesn't stick - it settles down after about 1/2 sec.

I've learned enough lately to know that maybe I've had the wrong expectations for this A/F stuff...thus I started this thread. :)

Ive never seen that happen mine has never gone that lean!
I had a narrowband (02sensor splice color show) on my old mustang and it sucked this autometer wideband works great and is quite useful. You can see around a .5 difference from a bung after header sensor compared to a tailpipe sensor fyi.

I know some a/f sensors need calibrated on a regular basis not sure if the aeroforce is one of those i know mine doesnt.

When you are off the throttle for a set amount of time, say 2-3 seconds decelerating your injectors shut off completely. This is likely the extreme lean condition you are seeing which is normal.
Lot's of widebands don't actually read that low, so some others may not see this. I know my autometer wideband bottoms out at 16.0 during decel.

Mine will go lean when decelerating with no foot in the gas, then will kick back in to normal when it thinks it needs to.
Otherwise, unless you're WOT, the PCM will switch the fuel from rich to lean to rich like every 2/3 a second, so under normal cruising or idling, the a/f is not really useful, other than knowing if you're running waaaaaay too rich or lean constantly during those situations.

who makes those gauges in your sig and where can I get them I like the blue effect to match existing dash lights I have now?
