Ok so i just recently bout some wheel locks from american muscle. http://www.americanmuscle.com/chrome-acorn-lug-wheel-locks.html And when i had my rims put on my mechanic noticed that the locks didnt go all the way down to the rotor....My regular lugs screw all the way down to the rotor....but the locks left like a 1/2 inch gap in between. The lock didnt go down enough to where it would touch the rim so i was basicly driving on four lug nuts. I called american muscle and told them what was going on...thinking maybe i had a messed up set? Or it was for a different year...but they said there for all mustangs 85 and up. And they said they have never had anybody complain about it not working... So they sent me a new one out and its the same size...and they dont work.... so is that how there suppose to be? or what? Anybody know where i could get locks that WORK!?

I bought the factory ford locks which are McGard brand if I remember correctly. They came in the glove box and I installed them myself. They worked like they are supposed to. Might want to go with those instead.

I also put McGard locks on my 69 Mustang, again, flawless fit.

alright i just went out and took some pics of it. The one with the gap is the lock and the other one is my regular lug nut.

i see what u r saying. do this. put the wheel on and tight it just using one wheel lock. and hit it. if its tight its ok, but if its loose its not. i dont thing that with the wheel on it would go that far inside as the stock.

I bought mine as part of my order. Since I got the X-plan pricing the cost was pretty cheap ($35 I think). Should be able to get the same thing from the parts counter.

well i called american muscle today and told them what was going on and emailed them a pic of it and they said it should be like that.....that it should go down as far as the stock lug.
