When do you know it's time to upgrade your fuel delivery?

I talked to Bobby @ S&H during Mustang Week and didn't think to ask this. BTW, Bobby is pretty damn knowledgeable when it comes to fuel systems and I thank him for taking the time to talk to me.

Anyway...
I had my car dyno'd at MW and am currently at 76% fuel duty cycle.
Is that pushing it on the stock system?
Is it time to drop a GT500 pump in?

Any useful input appreciated!

76% duty cycle is acceptable. Ive always lived by trying to keep it under 80%, but that rule has been exceeded by many people.

Not sure about the pump. Im sure there's a power level where the upgrade is recommended, but I dont know what it is.

I can only wish to have 76% duty cycle. You're nowhere near needing anything with those numbers.

You're in fine shape. If you're worried then just upgrade the wiring and that will help a lot. Talk to Bobby or Jeremy at S&H Performance and they will hook you up with the kit and instructions.

Wiring helps a lot. A long time ago Justin at VMP did some testing and gained 13% with an 8 gauge wire. I gained headroom with my GT500 pumps by going from the 12 gauge that comes with the kit to 8 gauge.

Still though, 76% is very safe.
