Im about to dip into buying a shortblock (have to keep up with the damn boosted coyotes) Im going to upgrade the valve springs while i have the heads off but was wondering when the stock cams would start to hinder performance. Im looking at a goal of 6-650ish. Is this possible with stock cams? I know upgrading is probably preferred. Ive done some research but all i can find is 2v people with stock cams.

Now would be a great time to upgrade since you are getting the heads done. Go with like a 127450 or 127550.

I know all sorts of people making 600-650 with stock cams.

What I like to hear. Don't want to upgrade cams really. I know someone is always faster but I'll have good odds on the street with that power range.

If it doesn't sell by end of june then I will keep it. I'm planning on it not selling but if I can get what I'm asking then it's bye bye. I'm getting all of my research and ducks in a row now for when august hits I can make my purchases.

It's going to be easier to hit your numbers with aftermarket cams. Many members have had large gains with 127550 cams. A friend of mine gained 57rwhp going from 127350 to 127550 with a Procharger setup.

Ill look into those Bruce. If I end up swapping, closest to stock like drive ability is what I'd prefer.
