The ground control people. Which kit did you get? They told me the 2010+ kit has the upper spring mount. But the 05+ kit doesn't. Why can't I use the 2010 kit? Its the same price.

Well I installed my GC plates today and so far am not impressed. The damn plates specifically say 24 lbs so I set my torque wrench to 24 and go to tighten them up and pop! One stud pulls itself out of its bracket. At first I thought its weld had failed but upon further inspection it appears that they had ground down too much of the supporting material on the back side. Now I have to order a new part and redo the install on that side. My phone isn't cooperating with the forum so I'll post the damn pictures later. FML.

Damn man, that sucks. i may end up with MM now. Plus they are cheaper.

Yeah I'm pretty upset about it. I guess the good thing is I've done the front install/uninstall quiet a few times now so I can get it done pretty quick when I get the replacement part in.

Damn brother, sorry to hear that happening. I'll give ground control a call and have them send you out a piece. I'll pay for it if they decide to charge. Also, can you email a pic of the specific piece that broke so I make sure they send the right one?

Thats wierd though, I've never had any issues installing these and I've installed quite a few. Again, just send me the pic of the part and I'll contact them tomorrow.

Thanks man. I was just planning on calling them tomorrow to get a piece on the way. The plate is still on the car as I needed the car to get home from the shop so I can't take a picture but ill send you a picture I took of the one I hadn't installed showing where it broke.

thats pretty shitty man, Id personally head out to the local hardware store and buy the same size and type bolt they used (in a grade 8) and grind it down and have the local muffler shop (or who ever else) tack weld it, save you a lot of time

Yeah I was definitely not expecting it to happen, especially since I used the torque wrench. It looks like they ground quite a bit of the head of the bolt off on that particular piece from the looks of the bolt but I won't know for sure till I get it off when I go to put the replacement on.
