is there any way I can find out what year or version 4.6 rebuilt/replaced engine is in a 2005 Mustang GT???

I know the 4.6 was used in many Ford products and the GT I am looking at supposedly had the engine rebuilt or replaced...the current owner cannot locate paperwork and is not helpful in this much...

I'd like to know the year and model this engine came from should it be different than the one that was originally in the 2005 Mustang GT...

Thanks for any help or insight you care to share...

Should have the newer ignition coils if it's the updated heads, the old number was like 3L3E, the newer number is different
could be rebuilt and still have the old style heads

Well, the 2005 Mustang GT is now mine...the sticker on the replacement engine has the following if anyone has any insight into deciphering it...

5S 690 AA 001
E150 260504 005801
4.6L-V8 26/05/04
Essex Engine Plant, Windsor, Ontario

I'm thinking the first two rows are the type and build number
third row is 4.6 liter V8 not sure what the 26/05/04 mean
last row is the plant it was made at

26/05/04 could be date of manufacture, i.e. May 26, 2004. That's how Europeans do it.
