Looking to upgrade to an SFI Balancer. My current setup is a 10lb blower pulley and on the race tune @ 22 Degrees of timing im right @ 500hp/455tq. I know im pushjng the stock bottom end. How much boost would the IW add?

There was a pulley rpm calculator posted up on here a while ago and you can figure out what rpms all your accessories will spin at based on engine rpm and balancer size.

If you pm me your email address I'll send you the file....it's an excel chart and has pulley sizes from 4" way down to tiny ones.

EDIT:better yet, here's the post with the link.

FWIW A 10% IW and 3.5" pulley made 15-16psi with my whipple. You can always get a bigger pulley to drop the boost. Bigger pulleys mean more belt wrap and more grip. The IW 10% is a nice unit. No modifications are needed to the front cover and my personal opinion is that it helps guard against oil pump failure by absorbing the harmonics better than a stock balancer. The one for $300 in the classifieds is a no brainer. If you will be upgrading in the future I'd pick it up because deals like that just don't happen every day.

Im still on the stock motor with a Gen I Whipple. Raising the boost a pound or so and making some tune changes maybe. I havent played with the chart, but what Dave and Bruce have posted that would be a big "NO"!.

TY sir. The K-member took a few pounds off the front end. Remove as much weight as you can. passenger seat, rear seat, etc.. Everything will help, tires etc. Jay, (Gofaster06) has ran an 11.12 with the stock converter. I never use traction control.
