I need some help here. I am in Afghanistan and my wife is back in the states driving my stang. I put a whipple on in July 08 when I was home on R&R. She has heard this noise that sounds like a welling noise something like a animation noises for bombs dropping. She told me that she pulls over and turns off the car and the restarts it and the noise goes away.

Does anyone know what would be causing this noise? Thanks Rog

well it sounds like a pulley is
squeeling, not the pulley on the
s/c itself, but one that is bolted to
the front of the engine.

more often than not, it turns out
to be one of the idler pullies.

other than being annoying, it won't
hurt anything...

Why would you think it's an idler pulley? Especially if turning the motor off and restarting stops the noise.

I don't know about hurting anything but it can/will leave you on side the road if it breaks and if it is squeeking it will eventually break.... here are some pics of the last one that was squeeking for 1 day on my car and then gave out on my way home to change it...
