So I was looking to add capacity to my intercooler for those hot summer days and wanted an OEM look. So I have the whipple kit with the older cobra white intercooler reservoir. Would this one fit? Would this one benefit me? It is a GT500 extra capacity reservoir http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index.php?p=product&id=375&parent=112

It should definitely fit but you'll have to relocate the power steering resevoir which isn't that big of a chore

For your Info......Lethal Performance just came out with a larger capacity direct replacement aluminum Intercooler tank for the Whipple-HO ($285) that replaces the current plastic tank. Looks pretty good...I Just ordered one..!!

I was just posting about the PS reservoir on another forum. My blower came off a 2010 427R and I had to move the PS reservoir. We bought the 2010 bracket and stuck it on the front of the motor so the intercooler tank could go on the radiator support.

I would suggest spending the extra coin now on a good aluminum tank especially if you ever plan on uping your power output. My Whipple gets so hot it vaporized the water, melted the outlet to the plastic resevoir and smoked the o-rings on the intercooler...this problem is being addressed!

Any idea if either of these tanks would also fit on the Kenne Bell blower system? I assume they would as they are almost identical.

^WOW that is deffinatly a big problem??!

Anyone spinning these blowers harder than what they come out of the box should definitely keep an eye on their IATs and coolant temps. Ithought I had a leak in my system and started watching the levels at the reservoir. Thats when I realized I was vaporizing the water which was causing an increase in pressure and the reservoir to expand. Temporarily fixed it by uping the percentage of coolant. 908ssp drilled and tapped the lower mounting plate for 3/4" NPT and I am working with him and gmitch to run -12 AN lines to a couple custom parts which should help "control" IATs and reduce recovery times.

The blower itself doesn't know what tank you have. As long as you can find somewhere to mount it and the adapters/lines, you can do whatever you want.

Yeah that sounds like a bigger issue considering the average melting point of plastics is about 400 degrees!!! 400 degree intercooler water!??? I would say a big problem!!
