Who's got a big rear slick on a s197? Come in

I got a turbo 05 car and I'm looking to tuck some big slick under her with new rims. Looking for a drag setup.
currently running a 28x10.5 X15mt 8.7 tread slick and it's not cutting it.

You can think what you want. Talking about parts is generally chit chat around here. There will be exceptions but this isn't one of them.

I can move it into the tires and wheels section if you would like. I think you will get more responses here than there.

I run a 29.5 X 10.5W X 15 slick. I could go larger but no need to.

Remember, its not only about how wide but how tall also. Rim width also affects total width (section width) but also can affect tread width.

Here's the build all stuff Is stock 05 v6 chassis with a 2012 rear complete setup. I cut the sway bar nubs off to fit a 15 rim. V6 front springs and stock shocks. Rear springs stock v6 and shocks. Bmr panhard relocation bracket and girdle. That's about it. I'd like to lower rear to match front and run a 28.00 tire . I have sve drift wheel wrapped 275 s for street.

Unless you like racing on ice, you shouldn't need any bigger than a 28x10.5. You need to get a hold of the suspension. Hell, I know a few guys that go low to mid 1.2x 60's on mediocre tracks with a 26x8.5 and 1.1x on good tracks.

Run a 275 pro and be done.

I agree with rcm90...the MT 275 pro should be more than sufficient for that setup and power. Sounds to me that you need some suspension work on the car.

I'm at that power level and have zero issues with spin even with my 275 pro tires being at the end of their life. They have well over 200 runs on them from this year and street driving on them to and from the track.

1.37 60's when I'm turned up and they just hook.

It's a solid foundation that i know will hold up. Hotside and efi stuff was already there. I got the chassis for 1500.00 and had the powertrain already.

It's looking like I may add some adjustable shocks and some 275 pros this winter/spring. Now the question is who sells a nice but we'll priced beadlock rim to fit it.

1.25 60' here on non-beadlocked 275 pros. Just stick em with permatex high tack when mounting them. For beadlocked wheels that fit the stock brakes maybe some racestar or weld single locks? If running smaller brakes than stock then maybe look into champion wheels as they are cheap and light.

I'd just glue em with the high tack and forget about it though. Locks cost more and weigh more if not needed.
