18psi in the tires. Launched at 4k 6765 turbo @20lbs. Not getting the tires hot enough in the burnout though(not enough wheel speed) that much I have figured out. I also can't go much lower pressure in the rears because I am still running street tires on the front and get the death wobble at the top end of the track if I lower the pressure any more. I need to get some front runners

Yeah you can't argue with the results people are getting with the 275 Pro drag radial. And not just on this board, but plenty of high horsepower cars in X275 makes that tire work at 4.60s in the 1/8th. Obviously they have a ton of money in suspension and power management as well, but it works.

I agree but I want to maintain good drive ability. That's my goal . Too hookup and still not rattle my brains apart in city
What is necessary suspension wise that won't ruin drive ability to that point.

Well I have some cash in my suspension and Hoosiers and still can't hook for shit. I am going to bump my build thread tonight with more specific info and see if anyone can point me in a direction. Seeing others on the forum cutting way better times and even lifting a tire on less power is really irritating. My track times suck too, best 60' so far is a 1.89

I get ya. Much harder to do when your set up is not dedicated for one purpose. I see that is where the extra tire comes in to compensate.

I agree with rcm90...the MT 275 pro should be more than sufficient for that setup and power. Sounds to me that you need some suspension work on the car.

I'm at that power level and have zero issues with spin even with my 275 pro tires being at the end of their life. They have well over 200 runs on them from this year and street driving on them to and from the track.

1.37 60's when I'm turned up and they just hook.

What pressure do you run in your Pros? Mine will move on the rim about 1" on hard launches. But the Pros do hook hard! I haven't tried Permatex on the bead when mounting.

I'm looking to see what people are tucking up in the rear of a s197. I think it's tech related considering all the fitment issues . I may have it worded in a friendly matter to attract more responses.

running 15x10 bogart rims with 30" tall 9" wide hoosier radial slicks on my 06 (stock ride height), they fit in the wheel well and hook pretty good (1.4x 60fts). I am also running a turbo btw.

What have you done to the suspension?

Not running drag radials, but I have the clearance now to tuck a 345 back there if desired.

I run the 29.5 X 10.5W, I am happy with it. But yeah, that is what I was saying earlier in the thread--its not just about width, height increases the contact patch also.

Gobs of room. Those are OEM Ford springs, and that's a 29" front.

running mine at 16psi cold, they hook better with more air pressure for sure, I tried 12psi it was a nightmare.

That's just a touch wider that the Hoosiers, I believe.. I have 325/50/15 on my car now, but will probably make the move to 275 pro's. I may try out the hoosier slick radials in the 30" diameter if I have traction issues on the street or run out of gear.

I've had 275/45/18 M&H that were ok on the highway. Also 275/60/15 drag radials that were the best riding tire the car has ever had. Plenty of fast cars use that size and do well with it. Another plus is that they are one of the best priced drag radials around.

This is just a guess but I'd think that a nice big sidewall would negate most or any issues a stiffer suspension would cause.
