What's the widest wheels we can put on the front of the 2005-2008 Mustang GT? Will 9.5" wheels fit or are we limited to 9.0" wide wheels?

I was plannign to put a set of 275 width tires on all four corners of my Mustang for road course and AutoX use, but haven't purchased wheels yet.

Also, if you have 9.5" wide wheels on the front of your S197, what brand, model and offset are they?

To the best of my knowledge Roush run's 18X10 on all four corners on the 05's and up. So 18x10 would fit with proper offset.

Unfortunately im not sure what the exact offset is bc i bought the wheels used, but they 'should' be exact GT500 Replicas. I am running 18x9.5 all around, and really no issues at all. tires are 255/45 NT555's in the front (285/40 NT555's rear in case you care lol).

I am running 20x10s on the front and rear of mine. They are Godspeeds and the offset is 45mm. I am running 285-30-20s on all four.

275 seems to be the widest most people run on the front, but 255 seems to be one of the more popular choices.

To answer your question, Ford does not recommend anything larger than 9.5" without modifying the vehicle bump-stops, steer-stops and fender clearance.

I had Summitomo 285/40r18's on all 4 corners with Saleen Type S 18x9's That was supporting an 11.4" section width. 9" would be fine for 275's. The section width of 275's is almost 1 inch smaller than 285's.

I'm running a 19x9 up front with a 275/35 but I don't recommend it. I plan to step down to a 245 or 255 next time I buy tires. The car tracks really badly on rough roads. :(

Yes, it is called tramlining. I am going with a 255 up front. The tramlining drove me nuts. It was so bad that my wife wouldn't drive it. Now on the track, going through the twisties, it was rock solid.
