When will the site be up and running?
2-3 weeks. I'm waiting on some quotes from vendors/subcontractors on some projects we are working on. I want to launch everything we have (we have more than the GT450 kits) at the same time.

The Saleen is not the only blower out there that is suited to the job of street/daily driver blower.

Please don't think I am taking a dump on the Saleen blowers. They have a lot going for them. I'm only trying to point out that they are not the only blower in the street/daily driver market segment worth looking at.

I agree with this.
What are the 2 others you speak of?

The Roush TVS Stage II

or

The DOB GT450 combo

or even

A DOB GT450/2013' GT500 TVS2300 combo

I think the TVS and DOB combo's have a few distinct advantages. They have much more efficient intercoolers, they have roots improved or TVS screws which on average run quite a bit cooler than screw blowers. They don't spin the alternators backward which is rough on the alternators because they don't cool as well as they are supposed to like that. And the time between service/rebuilds on the blowers with Eaton screws is 4-5 times longer. If a M122 needs to be rebuilt (at about 100,000mi) it's less expensive to simply buy another blower and pop it right on. No waiting around while it is sent off to get rebuilt and no big fat rebuild charges or shipping fees.

The TVS design is definitely an improved design.
But once again it all about what you want out of a blower.

Biased or not a Saleen for $3500-4000 is a hell of a deal for a 500rwhp or less kit.

If you could sell a take off TVS and make it a full kit for $3500, then I think you are onto something.

If not, then it is down to what your end game is.

I just realized something here.
I look by my name and see "Supporting Member"
I look at Bobby and see "Vendor status"
gmitch you are neither?
What gives here, maybe you should support this forum either by Supporting or by being an approved Vendor.
you are the owner of "DOB" are you not?
Why not contribute to this forum and maybe offer a members discount for that full TVS kit?
Like I said $3500 would be a sweet deal to the members here.

Kimmer and I have talked about this and we decided it would be best for me to launch my site before becoming a vendor. The problem is I am not ready to launch the site because I don't have all my pricing sorted out on all products. And launching the site short a lot of product is counter productive. That said the site will be launched in the next few weeks and I will be a vendor shortly after. I have no issue with paying to advertise/support the board.

The only discounts DOB offers are one time only product release group buys. The first batch of R-Spec kits for example. We advertise/sell our stuff at what we will sell it for. We don't play pricing games.

There is no way that a full TVS kit will cost anywhere near $3500, ever. That is fantasyland. A full TVS kit is a $6,000+ kit.

You're comparing apples and oranges. You can't compare a used Saleen, which isn't made anymore, that in all likelihood needs a rebuild, or will shortly. To a new TVS which will probably never need a rebuild, runs cooler, is packaged better, and can make more power in the future if you want it to.

I am glad that you have had a chat with kimmer about this.
These units are commonly offered for sale as take off items correct?
Are your units brand new from the factory?

So TVS will never need a rebuild.
But the Saleen will?
What exactly will need to be rebuilt in a well maintained Saleen, that will never need to be rebuilt in a TVS?

The service interval on the Eaton blowers is 100,000mi. So yes, at some point they will need to be rebuilt. But not very many blown cars make it to 100,000mi. And if you are running a M122 you can simply buy a replacement blower for $400 and swap it on in about an hour.

The Saleen service interval is 20,000-25,000mi. It costs about $1000 plus $200 in shipping for a rebuild, you will be without a running car for a few weeks and it's a PITA to box everything up for shipping.

If a used Saleen blower is purchased and it has not been recently rebuilt chances are that it will need to be soon. So the cost of the rebuild ($1200+) needs to be factored into the price of the blower.

But the Saleen will?
Yes

What exactly will need to be rebuilt in a well maintained Saleen, that will rarely need to be rebuilt in a TVS?
Everything that spins, moves, meshes or seals.

Eaton blowers are designed to be used in OEM applications. The OEM's have MUCH higher standards than the aftermarket when it comes to durability and quality.

All of the aftermarket blowers, Whipple, Kenne Bell, Saleen, etc, etc, etc need to be serviced a LOT more than the Eaton blowers do.
