With an aftermarket hood it will, but not the stocker I believe. With the whipple, you have to pull off the hood insulation also.

I think Thump_rrr is/was running one through the Saleen. Looked pretty cool.

And in reference to "It about the last mod I plan to do..." Yeah Right!!!:boohoo:

I don't think anything will fit over the whipple, the whipple barely fits under the hood by itself.

:funnypost: No shit...after I wrote that I thought "hmmm, if I voice that to my wife she'll fall backwards laughing"

Oops... wrong on both counts. hehe. No STB or Saleen SC for me.

Sorry to get you confused...I guess it was thump_rrr's car I was thinking of, where the STB actually runs through a cavity in the SC? Come to think of it, he probably changed the motor mounts to lower the engine a tad..

So the FRPP Whipple will fit under the stock hood if I remove the liner? I don't have a problem with that...the aluminum hood can act as a heat exchanger!

MrClean see if this help anser your question http://www.fordracingparts.com/mustang/buildyourown.asp The FR500 has the frpp sc &frpp handeling pack
Thanks; I read the site, and the STB that comes with the handling pack specifically says it will not fit over a supercharged GT...

http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=8269

I'm thinking I'll build a custom job after the SC is installed...something that starts looking like a regular STB on the shock towers, but then goes into a half-moon to clear the SC parts...or I'll get the CHE adjustable one (nice piece BTW), and then get an aftermarket hood that will fit over it...Saleen maybe?

Yes, it fits. The pulley was eating through my hood liner, so I removed it. It's now apparent that the intake tube (plastic tube in between the air filter and the throttle body) rubs the hood a bit, but I don't think that's really a problem. The pulley, blower unit, and all the other parts don't actually touch the aluminum.

I left the hood liner in, but the Whipple 10-lb pulley does rub it a bit.

Thanks...so have y'all passed an emissions test yet? the FRPP webiste has an asterisk bythe SC's denoting "not for sale or use on pollution controlled vehicles"...here in TX the tests are the plug under the dash type...no sniffer for OBDII+ cars

Thump got the steeda hood, and as he had to cut is hood to fit the saleen i don't think anything else could find a place under the hood.

I wonder if the Cervini hood, the Eleanor type, has more clearance underneath?

i want a STB as well for the KB but unfortunately nothing wil lfit with a stock hood. im thinking the CHE piece with lowered motor mounts and an after market hood would do nicely but i don't want to give up the weight of the aluminum for a fiberglass hood. ive got a glass hood on my tbird and after a few years it definitely doesn't hold up as well as a aluminum hood.

Strange. Many sites that advertise the Whipple say it's 50-state legal, but I can't see anything on Whipple's site (for other cars, yes, but I don't see it on the 05+ Stang page). Better be, I'm hanging on to my stock cams and preparing for the possibility of buying some shorty headers and a take-off H-pipe in 2011 when my 05 comes up for smog check. Removing the blower is not on my list. I have the manual at home and I know it has a CARB number on it - going to have to check the dmv's list of "approved" aftermarket parts now.

Amen! I love the fact that we have an aluminum hood...I would only swap it for, say, a Foose aluminum hood.

Here in TX after the initial 2 yrs, the annual inspection includes having the state's computer hooked into your cars system via the plug under the dash, and it reads the cars' sensors to ensure they're working, and that they're reporting parameters within spec. It another question I'll ask the service manager at the Ford dealer that'll install the SC...

Anyone in Texas with an FRPP/Whipple SC pass an emissions test? (I think I'll start a new thread on this subject)
