Is it possible to use a photochromic film for car windows? It's the stuff that gets dark in the sun and then light again at night or indoors. I found this website, but I really have no idea if this would work or even be practical. Probably way expensive if it can be done.

The problem with photochromatic film is that it has to have uv light to change. Most windows filter out the uv light. So they don't work well.
