Well I figured it's about time to make a progress thread on my rebuild.
I ditched the whipple and went with the THP twin 61mm kit.
Also I've added some more goodies in the process.
Jpc t56 magnum 2.67 first
Big stuff 3
BMR kmember and arms
Turbosmart eboost2 controller
RGR turbo cams
Big inter cooler upgrade
Changed the valve train except for the jesel followers. All PAC stuff except went with mod max valves. The heads are still the stage 3 MMR.
JPC intake manifold.
I'm really hoping for a 1000rwhp low 9sec car. The suspension still needs some work for the 9 sec pass though.

I hope soo. I've asked around and heard nothing but good things.

I just wish there were more videos of people running the kit.

Very nice! What did you do with the Whipple set up? Why the change?
I sold the setup and cams. The whipple 2.3l does not like high boost or big power. I did 18lbs on it and that sucker was running wayy too hot and wouldn't make any more power.

Should had waited on kenBs 3v kit!!! But nonetheless sick build

Yea I've heard some great things about his build, but I sold the supercharger a long time ago and my car has been down for wayy too long. I miss my car and don't want to wait anymore. Lol.

The kit isn't a bad install. The biggest pain is moving the battery to the trunk and then moving the computer and fuse box. Did you get BB 61 turbos?

I did not. I told Jim I wanted billet wheel BB turbos and he would not let me buy them. He just kept saying they are not needed and that since the turbos are right off the header it spools pretty damn quick.
So I just got the garret 61mm like he recommended.
I was also hell bent on using precision turbos as well, but he talked me out of that one as well. The guy would not let me throw money at him. Lol.

Yes that's Jim. You will be happy you didn't get the BB turbos. With the oil pressure on the 3v it's almost impossible to keep the oil from backing up in the turbos and going by the seals into the exhaust. I ended up getting Comp oil less turbos for mine, as I just got tired of fighting the oil problem. The journal bearings do much better and it will still spool just fine. Jim is great to work with and will help you out in any way he can.

Well i have like none of the suspension modded and my rear end isn't built and my transmission is for more for highway racing. So I'm guessing prolly low 9 sec.

So you want a 1000 wheel car to roll race because you can't drive? Don't you own a "Performance shop"?

What's this elaborate equipment you speak of? You'll be running mid 10s rofl

Okay t-kid. Obviously ur alittle pissy about something. Tired, hungry, didn't get any ass this morning I don't really care. Sit back, shut up, and enjoy the results. If not gtfo. My car is mostly a car show car and I track it once a year.
