Best to mount before TB and after intercooler or in a intake manifold runner? I have the stock intake manifold if that makes any difference. If I were to put it in the factory manifold, how do I keep it locked in place? Sealant/Apoxy?

Setup:
Novi 2200 H.O.
OEM MAF W/ Diablo
Relocation kit (Probably piece it together)

I have mine relocated to the second drivers side runner on the intake manifold. I drilled and tapped it. It probably would've been OK just like this as the threads were true and tight, but I put some copper RTV on the threads just to make sure it totally sealed.

Honestly, I'm not convinced this is an optimal setup. If I had to do it all over again I'd place the IAT between the blower and throttle body. I can't help but think that it causes a little restriction/turbulence in the manifold to the cylinder being fed by the runner I tapped.

Anywhere after the IC should be fine, I would imagine.

When I had my 06, with a Vortech, it was moved just before the TB. My tuner said that was the best place, he's been working with Vortech's for 15 years.

Couldn't have asked for a better way to describe it lol

This is what I've been seeing as the most common place to install the sensor. But...
Planning on meth? if so, look for the runner option.

I do plan on running the Devil's Own setup, hopefully before the end of the summer. What is the advantage of having it placed in a runner for meth? From what I have been reading, the best way to setup meth is before the compressor and after the intercooler a 6 inches before the TB. So, if the IAT was placed just before the TB, would it not still read accurately? Being that the meth is still being sprayed before the IAT sensor. However, I will not be adding the Meth to add boost or timing. Only as a "detonation safety blanket".

IIRC if the meth nozzle were where u suggest, the IAT sensor would get sprayed and then read too cool of temps

Exactly, and even if not getting sprayed you have to give it time to mix and read real aircharge temps.

Where is the best location then? one of the "Center" runners? Like cylinder 4 or 6?

For non meth setups lol that are air to air intercooled, blow thru maf = problem solved. But yeah if your going to meth inject an intake runner is the best bet.

Hard to say, I would go to the farthest, maybe more critical one, in the #8.

Giving it time to mix and show a more real temp.

Stock intake?

Yes, stock intake. That would be the cylinder on the drivers side, nearest the firewall correct?

I have mine in the passenger middle runner and it has worked great. I had meth before I replumbed my fuel system for E85 and it was a good location.

Thanks everyone for your help. Anyone know the part number for the Temp sensor and connector? Or is it just as cheap to order it as a kit from one of the parts slingers?

Just ordered one from BBR. They did have a better price than just about everyone else.
