Some claim a blanket will reduce the life of the turbo because it keeps the heat in so much. I know I wouldn't run without a blanket as it reduces the under hood temps dramatically. My turbos are water cooled so I don't worry about heat buildup.

I personally wont run a blanket again on a soley oil cooled turbo. I have no blanket on mine since the new turbo went in and theres no signs of dramaticly increasing heat in the engine bay.

You make a good point about the water cooled turbo Earl, I see no reason not to run a blanket with that setup.

What kind of numbers do you plan on putting down? I have a 70mm on my car but im thinkin of running a 67mm as well.I know it will be more fun on the street and will spool much quicker.

that isnt necessarily true. i have an 80mm turbo that spools just as fast as my 62mm. it is all in the turbo and the exhaust size also.

finished product!

car runs and idles great......unfortunetly im throwing some throttle body codes, so that all it will do at the moment is idle.....the ECU is forcing it to idle only!!

good oil pressure, coolant came up to temp and the fans came on like normal, power steering is quite,no leaks from anywhere......

That looks absolutely amazing man. I love this build. When do you want to do this to my car?

That is gorgeous under that hood. It's always good to see somebody taking their time on a build and getting it done right
