Just some stool pigeon that got told to come here and post this thread but he never got a chance to see the real Hellion turbo thread. Poor guy just wandered in here and got blindsided.

Somebody pass me the Reddenbacker's. :popcorneat:

Maybe I should get a dyno there. It's so much closer.

That and you can probably make like 10,000 RWHP with the setup they used to dyno that Hellion car :)

Oh and to address a few things about the Hellion kit itself. Back pressure is the MAIN issue but the other issue is heat. That back pressure not only causes flow restriction but it also dramatically increases the heat in the combustion chamber. On top of that, the intercooler is basically uselss. My IAT's went from ~70* to over 120* during a single dyno pull in 5th gear. We had three fans blowing full blast on the intercooler (bumper on).

Now, remember where that IAT number is coming from - the MAF sensor. On this kit that sensor is in the top tank of the intercooler, so it reads the temp before the air even hits the throttle body. After it exits the intercooler at +120* how how do you think it is when it enters the engine? WAY damn hotter is the answer to that.

So what do you have now? You have a motor ingesting extremely hot air and you have the back pressure issue which basically doesn't let the motor expel the, even hotter, burned exhaust gases.

Hot air in, hotter air not getting out = engine failure.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...ask me how I know ;)

Kettle corn please!.. Anyone can make good numbers after throwing out some of the shitty pieces in this kit. And as usual, a post/poster that cannot provide answers, reps hellion, and this particular shitty hellion kit.

I can play this game. "I met this hot broad last night at a club, and took her home to give her a whirl. Heres a picture to prove it buddy". Said guy shows pic of a blurry, possibly hot chick, then shows THE pic from behind, and its a possibly hot broad with diff hair color (like a diff waste gate, oh wait and a diff intercooler)... Hmmm something isnt adding up.

I think Dustin's WTF as a result of your last line which implies you lost a motor with the kit.

Ah, poor wording on my part. Car drove fine when I dropped off at the stealership for the trade in (was stock at that point of course). I was generalizing that those conditions will eventually lead to.

Oh, and the internet is a wonderful tool. Lookie at this little family tree:

Sondra Leslie is part of DeMarco Racing:

Sondra Leslie has a sister, Melissa Leslie. Ref MM&FF article:

Melissa Leslie isn't named "Leslie" anymore, that was her maiden name. Her married name is Urist

Urist...ring a bell? Sounds like Jon Urist, owner of Hellion.

Now, just to be clear, I'm not dragging these (actually, very beautiful) women into this so no comments on them please, just drawing a little line here.

Point is, there has yet to be an unaffiliated person that has a Hellion kit on their car and is happy with it (at least a Coyote). There are, however, quite a few people with that kit that are unhappy. One is typing this post :)

LOL, you need a new Hobby Greg.

Last time you said that I replied by saying "I have one, it's a Mustang".

Obviously that has changed, so I will say that my new pastime will consist of making sure people don't get totally screwed, as I did.

Oh, and helping you with your car as you have the technical ability of my wife :)

I think a key take-away here is that these numbers impressed a Hellion dealer when they are actually right inline w/the advertised numbers of the "base kit" (which this clearly is not). So if it's impressive when you make the numbers you're supposed to make what happens in the every day, not so impressive case??

the story is...no mods, stock hellion kit. flat boost curve @ 3lbs, 7lbs, and 9lbs. all pulls taken to 7,000rpm. any other questions?

Yes.

How did you get a stock hellion kit with a vband waste gate?

Bueller? Bueller?
