An aftermarket one could be the same... did you look at the link I posted?

And im not sure on pinion angle, i know there are plenty of threads on it though

I checked it briefly when I installed and it was snug enough it was hard to get the bolt through.

If I am at a complete stop, and I put it in 1st gear and let off thr clutch fast it clunks, then of I go to reverse and let off fast it clunks, but I'd I don't backup and just drive around thr clunking is a decent amount quieter. Why is this?

Also I didn't grease my poly ends on the upper or lower mount as I don't have the grease gun, or grease and don't know where to get it.

The gear whine is because you have a near-solid mount from the rear differential straight into the cabin. I tolerated it for 4 months before removing my aftermarket UCA and returning to stock.

You can use the bushings to take up the slop in the bolt hole even with the stock UCA.

Go buy a grease gun and grease at any auto parts store.

This is the exact same problem I'm having.

Let me save you several thousand dollars: it's not your clutch, transmission, driveshaft, motor mounts, transmission support, differential, or throwout bearing.

Thanks for isolating this to the rear suspension. That's a major breakthrough, for me.

Keep in mind you cant just put any kind of grease on those bushings or you could damage them. I had to go to 5 different places before I found what you need. I wish I could remember what it's called, I don't right now (I'm getting crs these days) but it's not your standard lithium grease.

I have the noise as well. I have the spacers, I also have rod ends with proper pinion angle. Its all the nosie I will just have to live with. If I drive with a smother release of the clutch while driving and/or smoother on and off the pedal it will not do it. This, as crazy as it sounds, has made me a better driver around a course since I dont want to hear it.

You want a marine base grease for your points if you have the rod ends.....most recommend it.

if the grease in the poly bushings run dry can it cause a the clunk? i also have a mach 500 clutch and exedy steel flywheel thats probably another cause as well. stiffer clutch.

when i go over bumps now the clunking disappeared almost completely which is weird.

i am going to get under the car tomorrow and double check the UCA bolts that there is no play and torque them to 100 ft lbs with the suspension loaded. then re adjust pinion.

if i jack the rear up and put jack stands on the axle, should i level out the front of the car or does it matter?

is this site trustworth to order from?

Yes I believe so, they are a forum sponsor and I bought my entire rear suspension setup from them. We have a couple forum sponsors that have gotten some bad press but I haven't seen anything negative posted about UMI as long as I've been here.

ok thanks man! i am going to check tonight. so its the mounting hole on the chasis mount? the one that connects to the rubber bushing on the UCA that is too big?

if i have slop or if it is indeed that i will order the step bushings from UMI.

i also am going to get BMR relocation bolt in brackets for the LCA's and i am going to angle the LCA's to point "downward" on the axle end.

Then i am going to get the BMR UCA mount with the 2 different mounting holes and mount my BMR UCA to the upper hole so its straighter.

Does this sound like a solid setup?

Read the description on the UMI page for the bushings. If you're planning on replacing the upper mount then you probably won't need the bushings. Look at the description of the upper mount and see if they addressed the size difference between the bolt and mounting hole.

The UCA bolt is typically an issue if you use the stock Upper Mount with an aftermarket UCA; and retain the factory sized bolt. The factory hole in the upper is larger than optimal, and the rigid aftermarket upper will cause noises to become present.

When you install an aftermarket Upper Arm, you will want to install an aftermarket Upper Mount. There are also "anti-clunk" spacers available for this, but I always recommend an actual mount to cure the issue.

Here is the issue 9 times out of 10 when my customers call with a "clunk" issue:

As you can see, the factory upper mount has a large tolerance. Add to that tolerance issue, an aftermarket upper arm that is 200% more rigid....and you develop a clunk that is very irritating.

If someone is experiencing a clunk with our upper arm and upper mount installed...I typically recommend them to check their torque settings, and inspect their bushings.

OP, I think you have the very first versions of our parts. My guess would be that they are very used/worn... Bushing issues and/or sleeve wear may be your issue.
