how much boost on stock 3v

How much boost will a stock 3v 4.6 hold safely? Not looking for high horsepower or torque Numbers, just. Want good power for my daily till I can build forged shortblock ? Thanks guys

Commonly accepted numbers are about 450-500 with some caution and a little bit of luck.

don't let these guys fool. you. the stock rods are safe to 650whp. id get a T88 and turn it up to 18psi. just adjust the sct tuner yourself. no need to even dyno tune it. you can probably even run 87 octane too.

Bent a rod at 7lbs. On any motor built or not can break. On my built motor i dropped a valve and destroued the block. my 2 cents.....

The key is to also make sure your running enough boost. Between 6-7 pounds and your guaranteed to be safe. Going under 6 or over 7 and it WILL come apart. 6.5 pounds is obviously ideal......

THe motors are only built and engineered for 300bhp..., however I run 10lbs, with a safe tune, but I don't beat the shit out of every time I get in it either, I also understand it could go at anytime. If you are going to modify your car you better have a backup plan. I've heard 7 or 8 is idea, but still not guaranteed.
