I ended up popping my motor a few weeks ago and figured I would post up some details on what happened and my build.

Build when popped
Procharger stage 2 10psi (P1SC-1)
BAP
frpp 80# injectors
Boss manifold
stock headers w/catback

What happened
Was out driving the car and goosed the throttle up to about 5k. Right around 4500 the car fell on its face and started blubbering. Took the car in for some datalogging and found a few issues. The maf voltage was at 0volts at any rpm during datalogging and boost pressure was all over the place because of a leaky bypass valve. We replaced the sensor and the valve and did a compression test on all the cylinders. Every cylinder showed 140-145psi except #5 which showed 80psi. Turns out the motor didn't like losing the maf under load!

Aftermath
(4/29/2012) Started to tear the motor down last night and am almost done with the "top side" work. I still have to remove the cats, trans and ac then the motor comes out.

I thought it was "understood" that forced induction and catalytic converters was a no-no???

Not that that caused your issue according to your observation but I would have had them removed when I put the procharger on.

Good luck. Looks like alot of work.....

bummer... when you start taking the motor apart I would love to see some pics....
Also, I am wondering why the maf would stop sending signal?

Because the cats can come loose and clog up your exhaust pipe...ask me how I know....and it seems it's either the added fuel for FI or the added air pressure that makes the cats come apart although Lightblades came apart when he was NA.

Lots of threads on here about FI guys that blew out their cats and a couple of them lost engines due to it.

Interesting. I assume it's just the rich fuel tables typically used, that then causes the unburned fuel to catalyze and overheat the cat. In theory a "proper" AFR would never allow a cat to do that, although I'm certainly on board with the rich = safe mindset.

And I think SS Killer had cats too on his motor when it popped. Again, I aint saying this was the cause but like Greg pointed out, motors have been lost due to them so I wouldn't have chanced it.

How much power was it making?

It was putting down around 620 before it popped but the tune that was in the car was not 100% yet.

I am going to switch to an offroad-x but I have to figure out what works with my hushpower catback setup.

I have a lethal off road x with the hushpowers and it sounds good.
