At your power level ... Due to EGTs and whatnot WBO2 needs to be a good deal more than a couple feet at LEAST down from the turbine. At 750 Wheel, I had mine around 18 " down from the turbine and the heat was skewing readings vs one in the ass of the exhaust (Which on my car is right behind the rear of the front seats) I put it as far back as I could before the muffler ... abot 4 feet or so 4" DP and 4" Aluminum exhaust to Magnaflow straight thru core with about 2 feet of a pipe on it after that, but there was no way I was snaking that 4: through the rear suspension, so it stops ala Joe dirt style right before it would have t make the turn in front of the back seats :O)... Muffler is tucked up right under the shifterbox... 1 good thing FWD has gong for it. Sounds good, DEFINATELY not a raspy ricr exhaust. Car sounds like its saying FUCK YOU in very plain english.
IU dont know enough about Ford motors tro know which bank runs hotter, so sounds like some here know, but I have my EGT probe in number 3 as in HonDUHS 3 always runs a bitr hotter due to firing order, and the cylinder carrys heat, hence fuel trim to keep that cyl cooler....
I digress. I put it just about where my feet are, a hair behind and it made a notable difference. For lifespan as well. You dont have to periodically change the bosch sensors.. Theyll let you know (quicker on leaded gas)... They start reading slower and inconsistently and "hang" around stoich. '
That New sherll unleaded race fual is supposed to kick C16 in the dick and its unleaded too... Im looking into becoming a dealer. Every car Ive seen try it ditches the C16, it has a higher knock threshold and a tyupical v8 car making 1000 RWHP is able to trun More boost and more timing to the tune (no pun intended) of an average of 100 wheel or so.
Ive read enough about the fuel to where I really really want to try it.
I knwo where to ghet some local, but piut a call into the SHell rep in TX last week. He called me back today and is looking for deaers in the PNW. There is ONE guy, it rtuns about 14 /gal, is unleaded... with better lubridity and doesnt use lead for lubrication, or flame speed control. Really neat shit.
Would sure help extend WB02s if you run racegas alot (I DO when the trannys healthy LOL)
NOTE also of interest:
SCHUCKS has WB02s cheaper than a few years ago. I have a good ol PLXm300 Ive had for years that has always worked FLAWLESSLY, and accurately ...
Thing is, Schucks will warranty them :O)... You can pull them out after 6 months just out of GP to swap em if you like (Or if like me you run a shit ton of leaded, you dont have to keep buying new one. I have 3 that I rotate so I always have a couple extras in my box...
