I am reving to 6700-6800 also, on stock heads and block, but I am doing so with the knowing that I plan on getting a new longblock built soon, so I am ok with the risk.

When I ordered my Ford Racing stage 1 heads, it said the stock valve springs were safe to 6,800 rpm.

Why rev the motor past 6200? Because on some of them it's still making power...???????

You can't make the blanket statement that the torque of the s/c is almost at idle as there are other superchargers that that statement does not apply to like all centri s/c's.

And again, your blanket statement of some people abused their engines and called them weak is wrong again; I have yet to see someone who added FI to their car and break something call the engine weak, they know or should know they are playing with fire when they FI the engine. I am sure there are 1-2 cases where people have blamed the stock block but 99% of the people who break understood the risk they took.

Not even going to go into your laundry list of questions but I have not heard of anyone "breaking" the stock block nor have I read of anyone breaking the rear end or axles on the S197.

Easy Henry Ford, I am not banging on the Mustang Engine, I just want to know what were the limits of the stock engine and other components. I have had Rx7, Supra and C5 Corvette. Heck a stock Supra engine can go up to 700whp-800whp with just cams. So since i am new to the Mustang scene, I just wanted to be clear on the stock components.

For a 600whp Mustang, i would need to upgrade, pistons and rods, valvetrain, oil pump, fuel and ignition. The stock block, tranny (with a good clutch) and axles should take it?

Now...being relatively new...pls use the search funciton as your questions/concerns have been raised and covered countless times before....it's not that people don't want to help you it's that people get tired of answering the same questions over and over.

I know the search button is my friend. I have use it alot. And I tried to read and answer my questions with other posts. I always felt that after 5 years a forum slowly dies, as all the questions, issues, concerns are already answer. So unless a new product comes along, nobody posts any thing new as everyone can use the search button for the answers.

So if people stop asking the same stupid questions, a forum becomes only useful for classifieds. A mustang oriented craiglist ! LOL . Every thing else is dead as sanscrit :asshat:

No need to upgrade the ignition, everything else you mentioned will get you to 600hp.
