Run 10W-30 on the road course. Put the oil in the crankcase, race, then immediately drain it and refill with factory viscosity (5W-20).

Also, drain the coolant, and refill with a 70/30 water/antifreeze mix. Dump either Water Wetter or Purple Ice in there, as well.

Wow, Cooltech has some sweet parts avail. I'm liking that rollbar! Maybe they'll indulge a groupbuy? :)

Anyone tried the Fluidyne all aluminum drop in radiator ? I think it is same one that goes in the FR500C.

Ordered one today from JPC. Let you know how the install goes.

Just ran a track day today after removing the fogs and adding water wetter to the coolant. Ambient temps were in the mid 70's with some humidity. Did not have any issues, except for overheating the brake fluid. Car ran great all day.

the fr500c radiator is totally different. try a fr500s radiator. they should drop in with no problem. That is what I run. there was a guy selling them new on ebay for $250 which is a hell of a deal for a be cool ford racing radiator

I couldn't find any on ebay, and FRPP notes the part as discontinued :( I found a couple online, and you don't even want to know what they are running for.

Looks like the Boss is the best you can get from FRPP now...

^^^ Thats a good price. 50resto has them for $650.

I ordered the Fluidyne from JPC for $470 and looks almost exactly like that FR500S

The FR500S radiator is still available from FRPP: http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=11919

The trick is finding one at a price that works.

My solution for the heat is installing the Boss 302S grille that I got last week. It has a lot more air openings than the stock GT radiator. If that's not enough, then I'll look for a bigger radiator, but for now I'll give this a try.

Going to ask a sort of silly question: what is the difference between the brand name radiators (Be cool, Mishimoto, Fluidyne, etc.) and the aftermarket (presumably Chinese made) ones like: ebay radiator
They are T-6061 fully aluminum construction, 3 rows, etc.

The difference is that one might end up in my car, the other definitely won't. This isn't something you should cheap out on--however if you want to take the risk and provide us some feedback, go for it!
