I shopped for months, facing essentially the same question: having already owned a 2008 GT 500, it was either the Boss or a new GT/Track Pack car.
I went back and forth for weeks and ended up ordering a '13 GT Track pack car just the way I wanted it and saved the $10,000 for other stuff.
I loved the Boss, but realized that I like to tinker around with my cars and like to add on stuff to personalize them. My (perhaps flawed) reasoning was that with a Boss, it was destined to stay stock, to maximize future re-sale value.
All that being said, buy what you are passionate about. Cannot go wrong either way.

Exactly how I feel. What made you give up the GT500?

Dude no way the mt 82 can be any worse than a 3650. 3650's suck a fat one!

My 3650 is as solid as the day I put my temp tag on my Bullitt. Never had a problem. I've driven plenty 5.0's at random and the mt dries me nuts. It just depends on the sampling though.

So, the GT gets a negative for the MT82 transmission but the Boss doesn't?

Sorry, yes it does get a negative for it. Look at my earlier post.

The "race inspired" clutch is the kicker there. ;)

The short throw in the Boss is spectacular.

Another option...wait for the 2015. That's what I am doing, even though I want a 5.0 so bad, I am going to hold out to see what the future brings for the new Mustang.

But I voted for the Boss. Those cars are just sick.

From what I expect of the 2015, I'm not sure I will wait since I thoroughly enjoy the retro look.

Today I'm leaning towards the Boss. Something just keeps bringing back to that car since you just rarely see them and it is just so much fun. I haven't been able to spend too much time with one compared to GT500's but I do know that there is a huge distinction about how nimble the Boss is compared to the GT500.

I think I'm so stuck up on the amenities since my mustang has been a DD for 3 years and I can't not think about driving one everyday. That OEM Nav is really the only stickler.

I'm really stuck on the School Bus Yellow or Grabber Blue. The contrast in the Yellow with the black is tough to ignore though.

I'm telling you, if I had the $$ I'd go Boss all the way and if I had to I'd custom make a dash kit for it to make the Kenwood nav look right. I like the Garmin nave in the Kenwood much better then the Ford one that gives ok directions at best.

i believe jpc's fb ad the other day was around 6k for a gt/ boss paxton kit with everything including tune. id expect most shops to be around the same price. would still do the boss or 11/12 gt500

The Boss is very unique and would be a blast to drive but I just can't get past all of the stripes. Like you, I bought a Bullitt mostly because of its minimalist looks. I really dislike stripes, scoops, spoilers and all that other tacked on shit. But I couldn't bring myself to de-stripe/clutter a Boss, which would probably reduce its resale value.

I could give that a go. I've been looking at all the dash systems so far, I think I could just get used to no navigation though... especially not driving the car everyday. I'm really glad they gave the 2013 Boss sync though.

Considering that JPC is pretty close to where I live I am going to have them tune whatever I end up purchasing. With the Boss I'm pretty set on a Whipple 2.9 or a Procharger setup.

I was thinking about that today. I love the Boss and what it stands for but I'm not sure if I'll love it at first sight and then possibly get annoyed about the attention... hence my reasoning for a GT500 with no stripes.

The mt 82 feels less direct and precise with shifts than my 3650 but my transmission has been super clunky and notchy from day one. I think the synchros are a problem from the factory

I voted 08-09 gt500.

Like you, I am very fond of the 05-09 rear+the front of the 07-09 gt500.
My first car was an 09 v6 grabber orange with a glass roof. The color and the roof made the car for me mainly because you just don't see it everyday.
Power wasn't enough.. so I ended up putting a gt500 drivetrain in it.
I couldn't contemplate getting rid of my car for something else because it was my first.

My dad got a fully loaded 13 gt500, I must say I love the interior and the power.. but like you also said..it's so refined that it just feels..too different. (for me anyways)

I like the bruteness of the 07-09s, upgrade the blower and suspension and its at a whole new level.

Love the bullit, hope you keep it in your collection.

I had to go with the 08/09 GT500 with the right supporting mods they are insane and I agree, they are sort of like the last true Muscle car so if it's not going to be a DD who cares if it's loud and obnoxious?

Pretty clear winner in this poll Cam! LOL

Haha. Not just yet... another contender just popped into the ring.

:thumb2: You have any pictures of that 09? GO with a glass roof sounds like a pretty sight.

I wish I could keep the Bullitt, but I don't really want to start storing cars all over the place haha.

Lol. I already know that with the GT500 you and I may have the same car color.

I think I may have found the sweet spot between the GT500 and the Boss... stay tuned.

I love it. That is definitely a great looking sleeper (just get your self some new wheels and brakes haha).

That is a pretty well spec'd out 09 V6 with the roof and the HID's. Nice job on the GT/CS bumpers too.

That really was not the idea I had in mind... what you just did was make my decision that much more harder. :nk:

whatever I can do to make things more interesting... :stooges:

Oh and can you imagine what a sleeper that would be if you left it looking stock on the exterior? DAMN!
