Well I went to Irwindale last night to knock out the last of my license passes and a big thanks to Ken for coming down and getting me signed off!

Anyway, for you daily driver haters out there, I didn't even change tires last night. I drove the car with 24 psi in the tires down to irwindale, let 10 psi out of the tires and made 2 passes. Put 10 psi back in the tires and drove it home.

Car ran like a raped ape with a best of 6.17 @ 110 mph. I am excited to see what it does next sat at fontana...

BTW: The track manager at irwindale said it was the fastest pass he had ever seen at the track by a street legal car driven there...:beerdrink:

Forgot to mention too that it was on bad plugs. I've been on the same set for quite awhile now and both Ken and I could hear it missing in the top end. I know the car has a 6.0x in it right now. I'm going to get a little more aggressive (1 more º of timing next week) and I still haven't put the 3" pulley on yet.

This car will see a 5.x pass very soon.

Congrats Mark!! That's awesome. I have no doubt we'll see a 5-sec pass from you sooner rather than later!

BTW... did anyone get video?

Thanks - nah - it was just me and Ken last night and we were focused on getting the license crap out of the way and he really helped me out a lot lining me up and helping to dial in the suspension so we never thought about video and neither of us had a camera anyway.

Good news was with the rim screws on the bogarts and up to 14 psi with a mid shock setting on the QA1 - the car launched consistent 1.35-1.37 perfectly with no issues at all for the car, rim, or tire. I still need to play around with it more, but it's getting close.

I really think if I switched to a turbo 400 - I would drop a 10th or two instantly. They have that OD option for them now so I am STRONGLY considering the swap. If this trans goes in any way at all - it will be in my car quick. I really want to lighten the car but I just don't know what I can possible do to do it.

Great pass, and cool you drove it there and back and didn't even switch tires. So you drove on slicks to the track? I have done that before with my 67. Your getting close to that 5 second barrier---you should get it as your mph is low for that run---which explains the need for plugs.

Anyway I am going to attempt the same thing this weekend. Drive 174 miles to Barona, race two days, drive back 174 miles to home. All the while changing nothing other then loading the race tune and adding race gas. Hoping for a sub 6.70, but not sure as I have never raced at Barona before.

Thats pretty awesome. Are you just setup for the 1/8? Because I'd like to see what your car would to in the 1/4.
