Badass man. Can't wait to see how much this one goes for! Are you two attending the auction in person??

Prices have definitely come down on the Boss 429's since first posting this listing so I will be curious too. There is a reserve on our car. I am not able to attend the auction since I will be back in school. My dad will be down there though.

It should bring in a pretty good price. The trend now is factory original vs restoration, so with 34k miles everything should be factory ( not restored) which makes it worth more.

If only we were around back then. I would have bought this and some hemi cars and sold them 40 years later and retire.

Yeah, there is actually a 1969 Boss 429 that will be going through that is original, unrestored, same color as ours and has only 2,000 miles (I'm guessing one of Darren's ancestors owned it). I am very curious to know what that car brings.

Sometimes I wish I could have been alive back then and bought all these cars. That would have been pretty sweet.

I may have to go check it out if they let me in. I've never been there before but I'm close enough to drop by (20-25 miles away).

Do it! Last I checked the entrance fee is $150 IIRC.

Ouch! Sorry, can't throw away $150 just to go look.

Yeah it's expensive to stomach just to go spectate, but the line up for this auction is pretty badass.

I assume this will air on velocity tv?

I'm not sure if it will be live or whatnot, but if it happens to be - our Boss will be on the auction block around 7:30p EST on Friday the 25th.

Guys, it's only $20/day!

http://www.mecum.com/auctions/auction_detail.cfm?AUCTION_ID=FL0113

In the "Special Announcement" section on the right side.

You should also be aware though that parking is $8 or something like that. So $30/day. If you're only going for Friday, plan on being there most of the day. Don't just show up at 4pm because it gets PACKED.

I went last year when it was only 5 days and went three of those days. Worth every penny. Get there either early in the morning or later in the afternoon, though! Lines to get in are long! I'll be driving up from West Palm Beach if I can swing it.

Can't wait to see the car— I love that color. The car I'm after is selling at 5:35 on Friday (1969 L71 Corvette in Monza Red).

EDIT: Here's the link to this particular car: http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detail.cfm?LOT_ID=FL0113-143198&entryRow=305

Updates?? I just saw this auction is on tv right now. It's an hour into the show so not sure if I missed it or not

Think I just saw it but not sure. Maroon one that stopped at 285,000?

Sold at $175k! Gotta watch it on the DVR. Hopefully the new owner takes care of her and puts a few miles on her.

Definitely something strange from the looks of that car, I just peeked at the pictures and could instantly tell

-Louvers??
-Wing??
-Incorrect Shifter
-Incorrect Exhaust

We already miss the 429 badly...

I tried convincing my dad to buy it a few months ago but he has too many cars as it is and not a big enough garage. I hope it went to a good home when it sold.
