I tried searching this thread for deep scratches, but couldnt really find anything without some serious reading.... so I'll just ask real quick, when I was installing my front springs, I nicked the pain on the fender with the CC plate. It's straight through the paint, what should I do to make sure it doesnt start to flake, rust, etc?

straight through the paint? As in primer/metal is exposed? All you can do is touch up paint or repaint.

No amount of polishing will fix a defect once its down to the paint/metal level.

I knew I wouldnt be able to buff it out, I just dont want it to get any worse with age. The dealership should have the little bottles in stock right?

For my silver car... wash with dish soap, use a clay bar, use a finishing polish, paint is in good shape.. do I need a buffer? No experience using one, think I should try it out? Then a sealant.. then wax right? I read this whole thread pretty much..lol, just nervous buffing the car.. only has 13, 500 miles but want to clean it up a lot! Any insight would be welcome.. dont want to spend tons of money, I use meguires carbuna wax... spelled way wrong..lol. thanks

I dont use dish soap to wash regularly, just thought i was suppose to before the clay bar and polish.. I have never used dish soap to was any of my vehicles..lol.. just making sure i have the steps right, i will have to try this on my truck to make sure i dont mess up the polish.

try a citrus wash instead before clay barring

No cleanse is only meant to go in side to side motions. Your not suppose to use circular motions with it so a da is a big negative

Ok...So don't yell at me, butttt apparently a few days ago when I got to roll the window down on some warm weather, I noticed a slight metallic scraping sound coming from rear. Turns out my left rear brake pad is toast and has destroyed the rotor from when I used to not have a line lock. Not a problem. New rear brakes on the way...What is a problem is that some of the metallic "dust" has gathered in some of the corners of my wheel and it seems almost as if it's embedded into the powdercoat....Can this be fixed? I used some clay on it to see if it'd come out and some did come off fairly easy, just wondering if there is a easy fix to this if any of you others had/have experience with this. Or maybe I just need to clay the hell out of them. Is compound and polish acceptable on PC?

Tried iron x or even sonax wheel cleaner? I would go more towards ironx.

I have recently got the Optimum poli seal and optimum opti seal. Going off of seers recommendation for the high temps in El Paso.
Do I still need to use meguairs 105 and 205 or can the poli seal replace the meguiars 205? Also after the poli seal do I need any other product before using the opti seal?
Just want to make sure I am not wasting money or time. Thanks

Two totally different products. Poli seal protects, M105/205 are polishes that remove defects.

So for a noob to all of this the def.makes it seem that the poli seal also removes defects. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting time or money.

For some odd reason I thought you just listed Opti-seal. Then your answer is yes/no.

Poli Seal is a very low powered "cleaner". On a 1-10 scale, M105 is a 10, M205 is a 4, and Poli Seal would be about a 1 but also offers protection, poli-seal is considered to be an AIO. There is a sticky in this forum that shows the various polishes and their equivalencies.

Any opinion... better worse..on CG's waxes other than Lava? ie... 50/50, Pete's 53 or Black for a black vehicle either metallic and non metallic.

All I can read is that Pete's is supposed to be for black or dark vehicles, 50/50 is a little better white carnauba with a longer cure time. Black looks like a mess, but I am sure it pops on black (seems to have some sort of glazing compound in it.
