New daily (Warning - Slow 3V Content Inside)

After getting stuck in some serious traffic in Moore during the bad storms a week or so ago, I set out to find a decent S197 GT with an automatic to daily. Came across this at a local lot, 62,000 miles, bone stock (still had the original Pirellis on the front, but they are dry rotted badly!) and it has the red seat interior package. Couldn't beat the price (ended up well under 12,000 after negotiations) so I picked her up. Nice to be lazy when driving again, and if I need to go fast, I can always head to the garage and fire up the '12.

Swapped the Razors off the '12 on to her this afternoon, ordered an FRPP handling kit with the K springs to cure that 4x4 look. Other than that, just an intake and tune and new axleback should do it for a little while.

The '12 wears the Race Stars full time now. It's useless trying to drive her on street tires with that much power, so the DR's stay on all the time now. The Razors are staying on the '05.

Those "louvers" are unlike any I've ever seen. They are solid, no vents at all. Bugs the crap out of me not being able to see out them!

It's already got 9 years of swirls in the paint, and some rock chips here and there. Going to let a buddy detail it and clean up as much as he can, but it's just an old car. And it will still go through the auto car wash, just like the '12 does. I'd rather spend time driving than washing!

I was kind of looking for a clean Mach 1 myself, everything I came across was either used up (well over 100k miles) or too clean to daily (found a couple with under 15k miles). This should work OK for the daily grind.

The MACH 1's hold onto their value pretty well. Been looking for a regular GT. Found a few, just trying to figure out how to get by the wife.

I figured that one out several years ago, divorce! She never "got" my car addiction, and we were together nearly 20 years. The new GF understands, and actually feeds the addiction from time to time.

That's the truth. Lol, I thought my 3v was fast until I drove home a 5.0

Driving a 3V auto after getting out of the '12 is not nearly as disappointing as I thought it would be. Just takes a little retuning your brain for a mile or two and then all is fine. What does suck though, is that crazy "drive-by_wire" throttle lag. I'd forgotten how bad it really is. Definitely needing a tune!

Nice ride, especially for a DD. I would have a hard time NOT putting money into modding it though. If you can do that, then you sir, are a man of great self control!

I said daily, not boring! LOL! Just because it might not end up with a KB on it, doesn't mean she won't get some lovin'! Mods will be coming, starting with an intake and tune to get rid of that damn lag!
