LOL!! I was wondering how long it would take for someone to find the add. In a fit a rage, I listed it for sale. However, I can't delete the add unless I pay $65.00. I'm a cheap bastard so the add can stay up until it expires.

I entered into a contract that prevents me from selling the car before 12/31/14. There is some cool stuff in the works for the car this year. The best part is, someone else is paying the bill for once. It will see some hardcore racing in AIX in 2014.

AIX is the American Iron Extreme class in the NASA road racing organization. The biggest difference between AIX and other classes is an unlimited power to weight ratio and a max tire width of 13 inches. Some truly nasty cars show up to race in AIX as well as some really talented drivers.

Marc won't be the only guy in AIX with a NASCAR motor either.

There have been a few people run NASCAR engines in the series. I know of one person that ran the D3 cylinder head and was disqualified because it was to far from an OEM design and the block was built by Dart. The C3 head like I have, is designed by Yates and has SVO cast into it. My block is built by Ford for Winston Cup and has a Ford part number as well as WC cast into it. So for now, they allow this engine. But there has been some complaints on the fact that they are not "production" parts.

That event is always a blast. If it rains, I won't race it though. I'm going to bring my 2012 Focus to the event too. It's getting the full Whiteline suspension installed tomorrow along with H&R springs.

Only the National Championship gets streamed. The other races are just local events that people bring their lawn chairs to watch. There are multiple race going on nationally on any given weekend in the different regions. You could go and visit Miller Motorsports Park in Toolee to watch some local racers go at it though. In preparation for tomorrows track event, I drove the car to the alignment shop at 6:45 this morning. Although the car runs fantastic and it doesn't overheat, I felt a little out of place sitting in traffic. I also got caught in a very brief rain storm. That wasn't much fun.

Oh ya, a kid in a Civic with the fart can mod wanted to race me. At the stop light, he was revving the shit out of it but I couldn't even hear it. When I wouldn't acknowledge his presence, he gave me the four way flasher treatment.

Had a lot of fun at the track today and ended up cutting over 3 seconds off of my lap times from last years setup. The car ran great and it hauls ass. According to my GPS, I was hitting 178 on the front straight and I wasn't pushing the car hard. The car needs a splitter really bad. It's a handful at speed and could certainly benefit from some down force. I'm editing a video and will post it tomorrow.

Right now, I'm wrapping up another photo shoot with a photographer from 5.0 magazine. It's been a really long day.

The car needs a splitter really bad

This video was the 1st session and I found that the car was pushing really bad in the tight corners. I spent a lot of time monitoring my gauges, using different shift points/gears, and taking lines that I might use during a passing situation in a race. After this session was over, I noticed that my right front tire was corded so I had to replace it. I tightened up the rear bar and this helped a bunch. However, now that that car is working better, the car really needs a higher spring rates and better shock valving. After the sway bar and tire pressure adjustments, my lap times dropped to 1:320. After I install the coil overs and new Continental tires, I believe that I might see 1:29s.

As a comparison, there were was a pro team with their BOSS 302r, a FR500S, and an FR500C and they were running 1:34-1:35. The owner came over and asked if I would sell the car. . . . . . . . to be continued.

The coolant temps stayed right at 220, the oil temps were at 240, and the trans temp was 190. The oil pressure was right where it was supposed to be.

The first few laps it was very strange not using the clutch to downshift. Re-learning how to drive came easier than I thought it would though. Unless I'm downshifting in a corner, heal and toe downshifts are a thing of the past. Now, my left foot is working the brake, quick blip of the throttle with the right foot and stuff the trans into the next lower gear.

so it's a clutchless gear box? how often do you expect to have to rebuild/rehab it?
