And the others best attempt at explaining pinion angle is to regurgitate what I already said. When his first attempt was to tell the op to google it. Nice job lol. I'd say I expect more also but I'd be lying.

Get ahead of yourself much?

I suppose you are referring to:
http://www.s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=103485&page=2

...and getting it confused with?
http://www.s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=103250

Where exactly did I say to google "how to set the pinion angle"? This all coming from someone who runs high 10's with 650+WHP.

..and yes I setup my own suspension and do all my own work minus writing the tune where I have run roughly the same time N/A as you have with your 650+whp box of parts with more to come.

I expect better.

I have a BMR unit and love it!

Fuck 4 lbs, thats all... :thumb2:

How do we know that is correct? Has a BMR customer weighed their k-member, with hardware, prior to installing?

We already know the manufacture can't provide the correct measurement. I think an independent verification is in order.

Yes ahead of myself. Between you two there is too much spewage to keep up with. So there is confusion. As I said though, you did nothing bit regurgitate was was already stated to act like you knew what time it was.
And guessing you can't set up gears and that's why you offered no real help.

well at least you got the power right this time. Only took about 6 times. And you call me dense lol

Maybe that's the problem? You think JPC could fly in and show you what you're doing wrong? They're still so much faster and you both have stock engines. Or will there still be a bunch of whining about DA , bench racing would should coulda talk? At least I tell it like it is and say it will go faster when it's launched harder and left it at thought. I don't try to convert using internet DA calcs trying to make it faster than it ran and try to post up "I'd be faster than you if,...." Although I don't think you could hold a candle to your current times if you had a manual. But I digress, I'll leave the excuses for you. We were pretty happy w a 3900lb car launching like it was. Again, find me one like it that's faster. I asked you that last time and yet to hear a peep from you.
But you keep bench racing son.

CPR-are you going to answer my questions?
Yes, I had to finish the reply since it got erased.

I can understand that but I don't think UPR as ever denied the copying thing; let me ask you this-when you built your kit did you do it 100% from scratch without looking at anyone else's kits? If the answer is no then to a degree you copied someone's idea/theory/kit....if you did it all from scratch then disregard my comment. S&H is trying to get away from the On3 kits and do our own, we already recommend upgrading the the Comp turbo's vice the Chinese made ones but we leave that up to the customer; if they ask for advice/recommendation we give it to them but at the end of the day it is their choice/money. You are correct that we we do this on the side and not to put food on the table....perhaps if we did this for a living we would have a different perspective. There is nothing wrong with using ideas you like and what you don't. A blatant copy is the problem. But, I buy the kmember frames from BMR. So they still make their profit before I build mine. They will be making them for me from now on. But they won't copy me and if I decide someone else is to build them, I will redesign their section and make it mine. Then I can do what I want with it.

If they don't deny it then where is the issue? If you don't have an issue with UPR's quality then again, where is the issue? You are sounding like a certain ex vendor that used to be on here that cried like a baby over oil seperators. Because they've never admitted it. There's a difference. It's like a god damn congressional hearing. Everything but the truth. My problem with them is I don't like copy cats. I have no respect for people who can't create their own product. They're the Chinese of the performance world. Design your own shit.

I spoke from experience and posted to simplify how to measure pinion angle. That thread was full of confusion. That is the process I use and it is spot on.

Regarding gears, let's see....In my 2011 I installed 2 sets. In my 2012 I installed 1 set. I was the one to mention using a solid pinion spacer vs. a crush sleeve. Another oversee on your part. The Ford service procedure I linked is as detailed as it gets. I can't expound on that any further so I didn't.

You are just plain lost. You are comparing a 2,800lbs. race car running race fuel to a 100% street legal car that weighs 3,500lbs running pump gas. Makes sense.

Where have I said "I would be faster than you if....."? Maybe you missed the data I keep track of here:
http://www.modularfords.com/threads/185818-Bolt-on-2011-2013-Mustang-GT-5-0-Drag-Racing-ET-List

Timeslips are what count however I can tell you that cars running at track rentals in -1,500' DA (gutted) aren't gonna run the same times in the conditions we deal with here period. Look at how Casper GT's car ran away from those conditions. It hasn't broken back into the 10's even in good conditions. That is not an excuse, those are facts.

If your happy with a high 10 second, 650whp car then more power to you.

I agree 100%. Working under the car is way easier vs. the stock k-member.

If that statement means I'm lost, what does this one make you?
133MPH is the same MPH JPC ran with a N/A 5.0. Is that your benchmark? You need to aim higher.
That's you comparing a 2800lb race car to a 3900lb street car. Double standard much?

blah blah blah. If you don't like it move. You only have to run the number once. Hard to say who said what you or him. All the babbling kinda blends together.

Happy enough for the first time to a real track.

Now what we have in this thread is a vendor who doesn't know their own product and a vendor who doesn't know what's on the market both supporting each other. Hmmmmm.......

Since you want to make a post like this, in reference to me, I'll play.

Actually, we have a forum member who is not good with details.

CPR asked you specifically, multiple times, where the product is thinned at to make it lighter. Your answer was, and still is HORRIBLE. You referenced Greg's post, which insinuated that CM is lighter and stronger. You couldn't answer the question. After the fact, "you knew that".....same 'ole stuff from you.

I don't know my own product? Sad to see that from you. Are you seriously upset that we UNDER-RATE our product for the masses?

I question your posts, anyways, as I have and own 3 stock K-Members for 2011 Mustangs, and none weigh 48lbs, that you claim.

At the end of the day, what I do know.....is as much about the UPR K-Member as the UPR Reps on forums, and more about the K-Member YOU have holding your engine up, than you know about it. Without researching, can YOU tell me the material specifications of the entire part? Can YOU tell me how far off the engine is actually sitting, height-wise - compared to the stock piece? What about the front rack/tie-rod geometry - that would get interesting.... What do you know about it, other than it is CM, it is lighter than BMR, and cheaper than BMR?

Onto the UPR vs BMR. UPR blatantly copied our design. They couldn't even re-work our engine mount system, they even copied that too. Sharad knows it is a copy. They probably even used our K-Member to make their jig, instead of a stock K-Member.

When they originally released it, it was a copy of our 1/2" lowered K-Member.... People were asking "why is it dropping my engine"....and the UPR Reps were like "let me look into this".... 1-Month later a "spacer" kit became available for their K-Member. I have to admit, that made me laugh. I like Sharad, he is a great guy, I just wish he could work beside me over here, so he could actually be involved with a true suspension company.

UPR claims their K-Member is 6lbs lighter than ours. Okay, I can settle for that. I apologize that I claimed 4. Now, Mr. WBT clearly claimed that his UPR K weighed in at 22lbs.....because he doesn't believe any manufacturer! (good thing, because ours is lighter than we claim....imagine that!)

Here ya go:

Stock 2011 GT K-Member w/ Engine Mounts

BMR 2011+ K-Member w/ Motor Mounts/Hardware

The weight of the device that was included in weighing these parts
(deduct this form the weights pictured above)

That is all from me folks.

wbt / kdanner......if you guys have anything negative to say about me or BMR, how about you call me, PM me, or Email me.

I know what you guys crave for, and I understand....I have been there. If you want to talk facts, we can talk facts. If you want to sit and argue about difference of opinion and comprehension, please do-so without mentioning Me or BMR. I am asking nicely.

Thanks!

I should do this more often, the PM's I have gotten in the last 23 minutes are mind boggling.

Kelly,
I'm going to leave your PM box alone. I will say this, it's good to see someone that has the balls to throw up ALL the info requested on their part. I'm anxious to see if the other manufacturer will do the same.

Lastly...4, 5, 6 pounds heavier, or not.....I'm proud to sport my BMR components.

Thank you Chris.

What a lot of people do not know, is that we are always improving our parts. For example, compare the BMR K-Member to the UPR, when UPR Released theirs.... Now compare our current version, to the UPR....and you will notice A LOT of differences. We didn't want to settle for having a similar piece, so we changed it for the better.

^What I mentioned above, is no reason to sit and bash our products and our name. So what, we were off a fraction of lbs on our web-site.... That proves nothing except, things can change and web-sites can be inaccurate.

I cannot even begin to understand why a Vendor, a company who is an innovator in this industry, a company who has the best tech support and service in the industry, can be talked to in such a manner, over something so silly.

It is amazing how some people are consistently such snarky douchebags. Guess it is to be expected on forums though, every forum has a few. Oh well, information is good, nice info from the scales.
