Side but related question for you Paxton owners- Has anyone raced a Roush TVS car with their Paxton car?

There is a pretty good debate among Roush/Paxton owners which supercharger is better for a street car, particularly the 6M cars. Obviously you can go fast with both at the track. The auto Paxton cars really seem to fly, but I'm more interested in street behaviors and 1st hand experience from actual owners.

The focus of a lot of the debate comes from the RPM/torque differences. With the TVS having instant torque at near idle, versus the Paxton lacking in the torque department.

In tx raced my neighbors. I was stock stall, boss intake, stock exhaust with paxton. I pulled him pretty hard. That was one of 5 times a year he bring it out the garage. Lol

Again, your car is an auto which really seem to fly. I was asking about the 6M cars. Thanks for your input though. :)

I'm in the same boat as you. I rode in a TVS boss this morning and it made my choice pretty easy. Granted i haven't ridden in a paxton car, i think i'll like the torque of the TVS.

I know they are completely different platforms, but when i put the procharger on my 3v.. i was not impressed with the SOTP feel. Felt faster for sure, but not as much as i would have liked. It went from 310 to 445whp, but didn't feel like i gained 130 whp to me.

445 is a long long way from 600+ with the 5.0's..you feel it with these cars bigtime

As above 455 3v vs a 550whp boss is totally different. Get in a paxton 5.0 or boss and you'll be amazed.

Don't want to start all that hearsay. They are reputable. Think it may be tune related?

I had a vacuum leak which caused the same code. Check the connections after your MAF and if you are running valve cover breathers like I am then make sure you check the caps on the intake where the pcv went on the passenger side

Wouldn't think so. Fueling in the tune is done to both sides. Would look for bad O2 or exh leak.

But if you are getting unaccounted for air into the system it will run lean also. I had a very small vacuum leak after the MAF. Tightened it up, cleared the code and all was well

I have some data logs I can send to you. I am on an initial canned start up tune and was directed it was ok to limp to and from work and stay under 3k rpm. First round of data logs were sent yesterday which included idle, some free revs, and 2-4k pulls.

Just looked over my PCV set up. All appears normal. Checked the MAF its fine..... so maybe a bad o2? what side would it be for bank 1? Passenger or driver side.

Where was your vacuum leak past the MAF? I checked the fittings and they all seem tight. I used T bolt clamps from almost all of the connections.

i gotta quick question for the guys with the 6 speed manual transmission. When you go the boost route around 600 or so rwhp does the transmission need to be beefed up, or is the stock transmission able to hold up to the extra power?

No you're right. I'd look for that also.

If you want to test for a bad O2 reset the computer and switch the O2's side to side. If the code switches banks you know it's the O2. If not it could be an exh leak. Especially if you just swapped to LT's.

The leak was just before the throttle body on mine. Did you do any exhaust work? If so the it could be an exhaust leak but I would doubt you have a bad o2 since you don't have that many miles. And if you did exhaust you didn't use o2 extensions did you?

I'm still running stock clutch and flywheel. No issues yet but I have a feeling the clutch will start slipping at some point.

I swapped to an O/R x, but that was about a month or two before the blower install and I ran a Bama tune with no CEL. From what I have found on the net this code is thrown by the first o2 sensor down stream which is on the header correct?

Also any ideas where I should look for a vacuum leak? This issue really has me stumped.

When I checked mine everything looked good but one of the clamps was not centered properly and was the cause of the problem. Just readjust everything after the MAF and retighten. A very small leak can cause this. A large leak will make it run like shit.
