Go ahead and replace the T Stat. I would also look into renting a Cooling System Vac Pump to get all the air out!
Vac Pump is a great tool.
Absolutely. We have a crazy nice one here at work that puts a vacuum on the system then uses the vacuum to fill the system with new coolant.
I've been looking to buy one for outside of work activities. Any idea where to get a decent one that doesn't cost a fortune?
I got one of these works very good $115

I am also fighting a running hot car
Mine seems to be only when AC is on
No AC it stays around 200.
I need to find time to check the T Stat
Well Im still not sureThat's exactly where I'm at, with the difference that I'm at 206-210* without AC.
If I blast the heater, it'll stay around 192-196* with outdoor temp of 70ish.
Is it safe to say your problem isn't air ??
