What enhancements make these cars a BETTER DD?

Better? Hmm. Here's a list of things I think are "musts" for a daily driver.

- Tint.
- Lowering with a good set of springs, dampeners, and adjustable panhard rod.
- Decent wheels and tires.
- Protection for the a/c condenser! The '10-12 grille design leaves this area vulnerable so put up some kind of screen to keep large rocks off the condenser.
- I put one of the JHR shifter brackets on my car. It was a subtle change, but I think it improved shifting in the car and I'm happy with it.
- Some kind of mellow but noticeable exhaust. Roush axlebacks and muffler deletes are retarded. Get some GT500 mufflers; they are cheap, always sound good, and then if you decide to make it louder, someone will buy them.

That's really about it. These cars are excellent daily drivers from the factory.

Love it because it's sweatproof and comes on and off the seat in 30 seconds. I just leave it in th trunk

If you don't have sync: A stereo with bluetooth. Pandora, navigation, and hands free phone calls working all in harmony is something I'll never live without now.

Driver's side - rubber backseat tiny Floormat on top of the Thicker Floormat (done this for years on all my cars)

Soon though there will be the usual upgrades, someday hope to put Recaros in there.

How stiff are the springs in your MGW? Can you really slam gears in it? Also, how is it for casual driving? I am on the fence of ordering one right now. I can't decide if I want to go "all out" with the MGW or just get a Barton 2-post bracket and call it a day

DD my 12, but it's a v6 so not much to worry about, I did tint all the way around the day after I got it, def a must here in the south. I'd like to do the Barton bracket and get some better wheels and tires, maybe a panhard bar..after lowering it with sportlines it rides like hell

I have the same taste in music. I Never know if I want to listen to Alan Jackson or Slipknot. I'm weird. I guess it depends if I want to cruise, or if I'm doing more of a "Spirt" drive.

The MGW was stiff for the first 500 miles or so and has now loosened up and is very easy to shift, I can shift with 2 fingers, and my wife drives the car also and has no trouble. And yes you can really slam gears in it, but you have to learn it or get used to it at first, It is very different than the stock shifter.
I like it alot and would not consider going back to stock.

I rarely listen to the radio in my car so I left it stock. I like hearing the exhaust note better than music.

I'm no expert but the install, piping, engine compartment, and getting the tune right turn me off. Plus when it's all said and done, a turbo kit with a tune is going to cost me what, $4,500? A vortech with the HO upgrade and a canned tune from Brenspeed would cost a few hundred more and get me where I want to be with less hassle. No offense intended, since you sell turbo kits.

Sometimes you can't beat the music your own car makes. But once your on the highway for a bit, it's time to turn on some music.

I did the Steeda shifter bracket, and I haven't missed third since. I actually like the stock shifter, and I'm not racing this car daily anyways. My MBRP race axle-backs are LOUD, but I'm mostly deaf anyways so it's no biggie for me. I do need to get some dampers to go along with my sport springs, but it's not that big of a deal right now. Other than that, it's fine for the 30 mile round trip I do everyday.

This thread is a good one for me because I've built my 100% for the sole purpose of having a very nice, very comfortable daily driver that still performs well. I've had 10 Mustangs from mild near-stock foxes to a 422 cubic-inch nitrous'd convertible SN95. I wanted a really nice car that was a head turner and performer, while sacrificing ZERO drivability. I drive mine down a boring-ass freeway in stop and go traffic every single day. With that in mind, I bought a car with all the creature comforts Ford had to offer. The stuff Ford gave me that make it nice to drive everyday is:
- Heated seats (kick ass in winter)
- Nav/Sync
- HIDs - super bright lights at night and early morning)
- Glass roof - single most enjoyable mustang feature ever. Period.
- 401A Leather

Other stuff I did with daily driver in mind are:
- Interior LEDs
- GT500 steering wheel and shifter boot (very nice for cheap money)
- Koni Str.T all around with Steeda Ultralites - incredibly comfortable and eliminated the horrible wheelhop completely with no other mods
- Nice wheels and tires
- rubber trunk mat from Ford - allows you to throw crap in your trunk and not worry about it

Stuff I have that I don't necessarily like:
- 401A shift knob - it looks great, but will burn the shit out of you in the summer in Phoenix, especially with the sun shining right through the roof
- Factory 3.73s - I'd actually like something a little less steep for a daily driver. 1st gear is already tall enough in the trans. I'm in stop-n-go traffic everyday for over an hour.
- ultra low-profile tires - if I had it to do over again, I'd probably go with 35 series all the way around

Stuff I'd like to add to make it more enjoyable to DD:
- TVS blower for insta-retard-torque
- Nice floor mats
- Maybe some GT500 Recaros if I can get them for reasonable money and adapt my power brackets and heated seats to them
- Additional sound deadener like Damplifier Pro with another layer of Luxury Liner Pro on top. This makes it really quiet inside.


Stuff that I don't have an immediate need for:
- aftermarket shifter and/or bracket - the stock one seems fine to me, but perhaps that simply because I've not daily driven a car with one. I dunno, my trans already makes plenty of noise and I don't miss many shifts.
- aftermarket control arms - my wheelhop disappeared completely with the shocks/struts, and harder bushings in aftermarket arms will only make the car ride worse
- mufflers our exhaust - I like it quiet. In fact, I'd love turbos for this reason
