These?:

Being a single tube damper they should be able to move a lot of oil during high shaft speeds. Unless the valving is a mess I would think you could get away with stiff springs and still have a pretty good ride.

Yea buddy thats them. The car is rather slammed now so i take that in a good chunk of the stiff ride, but when i was only down around 1.5 i still felt that the rear was a little stiff. But I DD the car and they have held up fine over 30k so far.

If the R2's are getting called out on some Chinese stuff at $2200 then those BC's being adjustable monotubes that come with CC plates for $1100 have gotta raise some concern. I remember looking at those and couldn't find any credible info. Saleen Racecraft's look similar.

No credible info? There was only one other guy that i knew off when i bought mine. BC makes the Saleen for them. The BC's are knock offs but for the price i dont think they can be beat. I enjoy them. I have had them on for 30k so far and dont have any complaints, except that the rear is a little too stiff.

I'm not even going to comment on people who buy a $35k car, but put cheaper dampers than come stock on a Kia.

BC, Ksport, etc.........is all Taiwanese built knock offs. Custom valved Bilsteins' and custom valved Koni's are the cheapest stuff I see on cars that are at the track regularly

Im guessing this is aimed at me.....so.....here we go. A 35K car? Sorry bud not quite. Man wouldnt customed valved stuff be awesome, but since you dont know what I was using the car for your commet would be smoke into the wind huh? At the track yea you do see all that stuff I have actually tracked these with decent success if i might add (not saying they are amazing, but for the $$$$$).......But on a DD that is at 50k since 09 I didnt want to drop the coin to "not use" a pair of really good dampners for no more than highway cruising.

Sorry I didnt mod my car the way you would of liked to see it happen:kma:

Received my stuff from eibach. I now have some 350lb 7 inch springs for the front. and will try 225 in the rear, if that doesn't work I will drop it from there. Also have the smaller bump stops from the older kit to give me some more travel. I am going to try using these delrin isolators that are supposed to allow the spring to move "freely" but if they don't work out, vorshlag CC plates it is

Looks like Eibach is recommending what Steve was told. This is a confirmation that they want the helper to sit on top of the main spring:

"David,
My suggestion is to move the helper to the top of the main spring. I’ve seen this before where the helper was placed on the bottom and once it was moved to the top the noise went away.

Best regards,

My tenders are on the bottom. They work much better there.

They should always be on the bottom. Apparently they're suggesting I swap them to the top to reduce creaking noise from suspension (what I believe to be the 2 springs rubbing against one another).

Then they have gone full retard. The tenders are collapsed 100% when the car is on it's wheels. They are spacers then.

Mine don't make a lick of noise.

I've seen this dumb ass stuff from suspension companies for years. Even top shelf stuff like Ohlin's or Penske. Most of the time no one knows anything about the actual on car/motorcycle/snowmobile/etc. application. They've never even touched one. And if someone there does have the first hand in the field knowledge you will never get them on the phone or have them answer an email. The good guys are in the field all the time doing testing or working with race teams, they don't talk to customers.

Part of the reason I send all my money to Vorshlag!!!

Couldn't agree more. We work with MANY shock companies and the shock makers often have never seen or touched the car in question. It is a logistics problem, and they often have to rely on dealers or even customers to send them OEM parts to mimic and then test. Some dealers/customers are TERRIBLE at giving shock makers good measurements, feedback or development help. We've inherited so many TERRIBLE shocks that "so and so said worked great!" only to have to re-spec body and shaft lengths, valving, diameters, mounts, holes, brackets and more. It is a LOT of work to design a proper aftermarket damper and SO EASY to get it wrong. SO many popular shock offerings have massive mistakes that it could fill a BOOK.

Don't get me started.... :beerdrink:

I AM SO DONE WITH EIBACH

It's probably mostly customer service.
Now my car was 14k... so I wanted something cheap... I regret that mindset. 1500 dollars isn't much in the grand scheme of things.

I've waited TWO MONTHS just to get them. No notice. I still don't have them and am looking forward to lots of problems when they arrive.

Vorshlag representatives take note:
I've seen all of you be very clear explaining things... Please for us start a thread that shows the $<3k <5k <7k coilover options YOU would go with, with benefits to upgrading. Include spring rates if you want, but really most people don't want the tech, and just want "the best for 5k" or whatever and let you decide.... Its also a little weird to hear you talk about Moton/AST and only have MCS on your website under S197.

Vorshlag CC plates for R2 coilovers
They immediately sent me an email and asked for dimensions on the shock threading, which Eibach did send quickly. steve13gt They should have those numbers now. They approximated two weeks, and left me satisfied as usual.

Ive had my vorshlag eibach R2 CC for about a year now, thought they would have still had the dimensions..

To Arustik, Tenders on bottom, helpers on top is what they say, although I personally believe it doesn't matter. Tenders has very low spring rate, helpers have zero(nearly) spring rate. My kit came with Tenders, installed on top. Install the delrin isolators from eibach, it will allow the springs to not be metal on metal.

I'M JUST A TESTER, I WORK FOR PERKIN ELMER, NOT VORSHLAG!

Now that we have that out of the way, so it's clear I'm not speaking for Jason or Terry or anybody, AST is out of the picture until their new dealer gets set up, and their stuff isn't available for the time being. I really hope they get their act together in Holland and start making 4150's for Mustangs, because they're really, really great for the price. I would buy them again 10 times if I had to.

It sucks to hear that about ASTs. I'm really happy with mine and was wondering what ever happened to being able to send them in to be converted to double adjustable. I guess that's out of the picture right now.

I wouldn't think it's completely gone...there's a guy in Dallas working on AST's, look up MaxcySpeed, he can do anything you need with AST's
