I did a lot research on running a dry shot on our cars. Everyone I asked about it said that's a big No No. You'll go lean and blow ur shit up. I Didn't listen and went ahead install a zex dry kit. I'm running a 75 shot. I installed some cold plugs and a wideband. The kit that I have has an in/out nitrous line and a in/out fuel regulator vacuums. I'm only using the nitrous line no vacuums. On a 93 performance bama tune I retarded timing 4 degrees and increase the a/f by 8 on my hand held tuner. I did a test run on 2nd and 3rd gear and wow..... what great hp gains. My a/f ratio maintain at 12-12.6. Car react great to the shot.

So why the big No No on running dry nitrous on the s197s? If ur keeping an eye on ur a/f you should be fine.

I can be way off but I was always told on a dry kit, it puts alot of stress on a stock fuel pump to supply all the fuel needed. Then sooner then later it will cause an issue then you lost your engine.

OP, if you want to fuck yourself so bad, just go do it the way this guy did. At least you won't find yourself without a car.

Dry certainly can be done and is being done. Like mentioned in the other thread 8306gt is running a NX DRY kit with custom tune and it runs fine. The downside to dry is they cost more to set up because of fuel system and tuning. The other downside with the dry on the 4.6 is that NA and WOT it will run really rich on the nitrous tune. But personally I have never run a nitrous tune NA nor would I with this car. On my old 5.0 I had a flip chip which was wired to the nitrous toggle/arming switch. When toggled in off position it selected the NA tune. When armed, it activated the nitrous tune. This was how I thought the JMS controller worked, but was wrong. The upside to Dry is you eliminate the possible backfire that will blow up your intake manifold and dent your hood and possibly catch your car on fire. There are plenty of backfire videos on Youtube. Get your car professionally tuned before it gets hurt.

Alright alright.... Enough with the bashing. Yes I posted that a few weeks ago .... thinking I would get some positive answers which I did from a few people from here. I've been researching this since January. I have found many pros and cons on dry shot. I figure either way you go wet or dry something is going to give sooner or later.

Car is responding jus fine with shot. Plugs look good... no denotation. As long as i keep a/f right I should be good. For people that say I'm over working my fuel pump with the dry shot is correct but The wet kit would do the same. The fuel solenoids are pulling the extra gas which is forcing the fuel pump to work harder.

I can agree that a small dry shot of nitrous can be compensated for with minor changes to WOT Lambda, timing and MAF changes etc.

75 is the highest I'd go. I wouldn't push it any more IMHO.
