So, as I was driving at high speed in my 08 Mustang GT, she decided she didn't like the plastic under-body tray that sits near the front of the car. The only thing left is the hardware and the corners of the plastic panel where it was ripped from the bottom of the car. Couple questions.....

Has this happened to anyone else before?

Does anyone know why this would happen?

Is it worthwhile to replace said missing panel?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

If your talking about the splash guard then yes. Unless it's only driven in good weather IMO

Yes, at just over 160MPH it flew off.
Wind resistance is stronger than the plastic.
The panel protects against rock flying up into the radiator and belt, so it's worthwhile having something there... I put on an APR carbon fiber splitter.

apart from serving as splash guard, it also helps direct air coming in through the front grilles to go straight through the AC Condensor and radiator, instead of going under the car

Mine came off at about 125 mph, which I was surprised at.

Thanks for the advice regarding replacement. I will just have to suck it up and buy a new one since it seems as though it is worthwhile to have it.

Is there is really nice alternative to the factory part that I should consider purchasing?
