What's crazy is that we opened up the ports on the manifold over all the other stuff out there. I wish I trusted another O-ring like a trust the stock ones. It would be easy to widen the footprint on that gasket and run a custom O-ring. But if the wrong size O-ring is used, the wrong material, etc there will be huge problems. It would be real hard to test for.

Iirc the newer 09-10 intake manifold gaskets are much larger than the earlier individual gaskets. They are one piece per side vs 4 individual gaskets per side.

I don't think it will be worth any changes tho. The intake ports on my heads are as big as any company will make them.

I did a test on pan coatings/shielding last week. The ceramic was effectively useless. So were the "film" type heat shields. They do something, like 0-5deg something. But not much.

DEI #050501 on the other hand is AMAZING! The pan interior ran 60-65deg cooler than everything else. It almost prevented all heat transfer. Use this.

I was planning on putting some sort of shielding on the bottom of my e-force blower this winter to reduce the heat soak between rounds at the track so this stuff may just be the ticket.

Thanks for posting up the link to it.

And as for the DOB setup...I'm so jealous!!! I wish I could come up with the coin for it...I don't need a monster blower..the 2.9 would be more than sufficient for my needs.

Me neither, we have been lucky and this is completely honest as she doesn't come over here and if she did, she would need a translator, lol.

Haha, you are safe my friend! We can always talk in a way so she doesn't understand us though...

Manifold won't be back from polishing till Monday. Boo..

Looking for something to do I went ahead and port matched the special plate to the heads. Then did some polishing of my own but won't share those pics lol

Plate works as a heat barrier between the manifold and the heads. Also makes it super easy to match the manifold to the heads.

For $9k, it better blow me and then make me a sandwich.

For trouble fee big power like this.. I will pay it all day long. Not having to put up with a bunch of bullshit all the time and about a million things that want to fail and blow up shit... pretty cheap option to me. My time is extremely valuable to me and I certainly have a more than a couple grand difference in the motor. My math works different from government math. I won't risk a motor for a couple thousand savings on a shitty problematic pile of shit kit. No thanks

Show me a "cheap, reliable and good kit" and I will bring the sandwiches and blow jobs lol... You bring that unicorn lol
