The track opened today so I figured I'd take our Whipple 2007 GT to make some passes. The track wasn't there for me this morning, but hey... I was trying to go fast on 20's and it isn't the easiest thing to do. Towards the end of the day, the track was getting much better, but I only managed to get 4 passes. I did get a new best 60' of 1.63 on 20's!

My passes were as follows:

12.0 @ 126 mph
11.6 @ 126 mph
11.3 @ 126 mph
11.0 @ 126 mph

I didn't back up my 10.82 @ 126 from last year, but with a few more passes I could have done it. I'd really like to get a tire on the car, because I had to leave from idle and roll into it or it would annihilate the tires. Even on the 1-2 shift, it spun so bad I had to let out every pass or I was sideways on the shift... I think on a tire it has some good times in it.

I think this year, we need to try cams, a converter, and a tire.

It's no light weight... without me in it, it was 3,770 lbs with 1/2 tank of gas.

Great 60' time on 20's. 11.0 is so close to 10.8. Shake the rust of and go nuts.

Your posted MPH didn't change, even with a full second spread. is that a type-o?

Nice runs on those 20s Rick. It was nice meeting you out there, your car was running great. With a car down still I was reduced to being Ron's cameraman that day. Hopefully will get some opportunities to see you out at Milan again since I recently moved into the Lansing area.

It was nice meeting you as well!

Thanks, I was just getting the hang of the launching on them and the lanes closed...

You didn't happen to get any video of me did you? I didn't have a camera man that day, but I want to see what the 1-2 shift looked like from outside. I had to lift every time, because it felt like I was going sideways on the shift.

I'm out there all the time, so I look forward to seeing you there again as well.

My wife bee-lined for the car after every pass Ron made to warm back up, so only have video of his car. I watched a couple of your runs and noticed that it wanted to get squirrely right out of the hole. You could hear it lift out too. There was one pass you made where it really looked like it wanted to squirm around. Next time I will tell her to video the "other" white car out there too!

Yeah, I lifted a few times each pass so I was pretty happy with the times..... now if it would stop snowing I could go back and make some more passes... only in MI can you race one day and have 8 inches of snow forecasted for the next
