We decided to put the house on the market on Saturday, today the sign went up after a walk through by the staff at the broker.

This afternoon got a call - someone wants to come see the house tomorrow already. They saw the pictures of the kitchen/great room remodel that we did in 2010 and that was enough for them to say we have to see this house.

Not sure how I feel. I really like my house but downsizing makes sense since my wife and I don't really need all this room.
Well, they just called to cancel the showing. The couple drove by and realized that the yard isn't quite big enough. They have a Great Dane and he would be pretty cooped up in our fenced in area and even if the fence were down there isn't really enough space for that size of dog to roam around.

Replaced my pool pump timer. There is a power management device wired into it from the power company which I would bypass but it gives me a $6.60 per month credit on my bill. I wired the new one in the same as the old one, but now when the timer trips the pump off it cuts power to the timer and the clock stops. Or in other words it unplugs itself and now the timer won't work. I hate electricity issues.

Looks like a fun project

It has been a fun time. Building it with my 23 year old son. I am learning patience his is learning how to hammer and saw and I am getting to buy some new tools.

We had a tree fall down on our barn years ago and decided to build this to house the mover, a 4 wheel utility vehicle and outdoor power equipment.

Just one question... Are you going to wish you built it bigger?

Already do, the HUV barley fits (11' long) if backed up all the way (which i did not do last night). I should have gone with 13' to 14' deep. It is 12' deep 15' wide in the front opening and another 8' wide in the closed end on the right.

House has been on the market just over a week - and today someone went through and is preparing an offer. Still not sure how I feel about selling this house. And, if the offer is acceptable my wife and I still don't have our plans set for what we are going to do - we may end up having to get an apartment temporarily and storing most of our stuff now.

Good luck with it, Jim. I hated the idea of moving twice and I'm so thankful I was able to buy my new place and move in before listing my old place. It's a seller's market right now because the supply of houses for sale is so low.

I guess we sold. $4,000 under our listing price and $6,000 more than other agents thought we should list for

Congrats on the sale!

Today I finished installing the bathroom floor tile.
Ended up using a white marble threshold, and in the pics I also had one piece of the new hardwood against it to see the colors together.
Still need to grout, but I'll give it 2-3 days before I do that to make sure the adhesive is cured under the fairly large 12x24 pieces

I bought a hot water heater today. The last one was connected with PEX fittings and I needed to shorten the lines slightly so I tried using automotive hose clamps and they are leaking. I really don't want to go spend $50 or $60 on Shark Bite connectors, still got a bad taste in my mouth from the last time it cost me $40 to tap in a simple 1/4" line for the ice maker.

I also ordered my kitchen cabinets. I was planning on getting the Cheyenne style from Lowe's and tried to order them there but ended up getting irritated enough with the old hag bitch in Customer Service that I left and ordered the similar style from Home Depot. With their 20% discount promotion plus a 10% discount card I got in the mail I paid about $2450 for all my cabinets. I'll get the end caps, toe kicks, pulls/handles and counter tops once I get the cabinets in.

That ^^^ is a great deal!
I know what you mean about Lowe's customer service people ... they're horrible.

Today I got the bathroom floor tile grouted, then the GF cleaned it, and will do the final haze removal tomorrow.
On Monday gonna finally install the new toilet and vanity.
Will finally start looking like a bathroom.

Gabe. I'll one up you on your bathroom. Today I took my first real shower in my new bathroom! Still no door so I just aimed the shower head to one side and tried not to splash too much. But I had my first real shower since moving in. The bar of soap in the swimming pool thing was getting old.

Your tile is looking really nice.
